a good time, imo. just read the instructions properly and be careful with the steam vent thing and you'll be set. super easy and simple after you set it up and wash all the parts

How easy is it to clean after using it each time?

If it's anything like my one, it'll have like a pot that fits into the thing that comes out - will be as easy to clean as any other pot

yeah just give the inner pot a proper clean, properly clean the interior of the lid and that's it. everything else remains untouched by food, same as any other pressure cooker

That’s what I’m excited for. I meal prep chicken breast for lunch everyday in a skillet and I’m so sick of having to flip it every 3 minutes. It always turns out dry as frick and stinks up my apartment like some jeets live there. It’s gonna be so nice to just toss it in the instant pot and forget about it.

are you me? that's exactly how i feel about chicken. i fricking love chicken, but making it every day is such a pain in the fricking ass. i tried to throw it in the oven to make it easier but it comes out tasteless.

is this shit meant for chicken breasts? does it come out tasty? i gotta try this

people recommended that i get the Ninja brand but i don't know if it's better or worse

I’ll lyk how it turns out tonight. I used to just coat my chicken with paprika, cayenne, pepper, garlic, and onion powder and throw in the skillet with olive oil. It tasted good at first even through it was dry but after a few weeks it started tasting like garbage and I would have to douse it hot sauce. Also the spices would always burn and stick to my pans. Now I’m planning on rotating a different marinade every week and using the instant pot to cook it.

thanks man you actually got me so excited over this that i just went and ordered Ninja Foodi FD401. looking at the Amazon reviews it's a fricking beast that does both air frying and slow cooking.

chicken is back on the menu bois!!

Quick tender meats, bone broths, and stews. It's a pain in the ass to wait for bone broths to cool down before I can throw in aromatics, but the overall cook-times are worth it.

Most anons here should just stick to a slow cooker for their chicken, rice, and veggies.

Me when I found out most of the cheap greek yogurts are fat free.

Do your boiled eggs in it.
    >Put like an inch of water in
    >put your eggs on the rack stand, arrange them so they're not touching
    >5 minutes on high pressure cook
    >5 minutes natural release (just leave it for 5 min after the cook timer goes off)
    >5 minutes in an ice bath
    Perfection

Can I make all of this just with a machine like that?

Plus, do you guys cook all your meals of the week at once or naah?
And how don't you get tired of eating chicken?

                Anonymous

I try, but I personally found I can't meal prep for an entire week without wanting to literally suckstart my shotgun
I end up prepping for 3 MAYBE 4 days at a time and only lunch and dinner, sometimes not even all 3 or 4 dinners as i like having red meat at night and steak is always best straight off the grill or cast iron

if you're eating chicken only youre unironically ngmi, get some red meat in you, if anything you should be eating more beef than chicken, a lot richer in nutrients than soiboi chicken

The best part of a slow or pressure cooker is that you can bulk prep a lot of food with relatively little effort which makes it eaiser and cheaper to be consistent with your macros

          I assume it's something like
          >Start a pot of rice
          >Do some exercises
          >Start a pot of chicken
          >Go for a bike ride
          >Start a pot of mixed veggies
          >Get a shower
          >Prepare your meals

For me its often just chuck all sorts of shit in the pot leftovers/reduced stuff from market and some store cupboard essentials. Leave it on all day then box it up later and you have your lunch sorted for the next week, or dinners for a few days.

YOu can very eaisly bulk up meals with lentils and other vegetables and use whatever meat for protein, season it well and you have some delicious ,cheap, macro friendly slop and have preped anywhere from 5-10 meals in not much more time than it normally takes for one.

Take the slow cooker slop pill

Agreed. Here's how to make probiotic Greek yogurt for really cheap.

        1) Make sure you have a cheesecloth, accurate digital thermometer, and yogurt starter (2 TBSP of store bought yogurt with "Active Cultures" also works).
        2) Pour gallon on 1% or fat free milk into instant pot
        3) Press "yogurt" button until it says "boil"
        4) Once it beeps, let it cool down to 110F
        5) Add starter, stir with clean spoon, and use Yogurt button and + button to set timer to 15 hours
        6) It can take from 3 to 9 hours to set, at which time you can take a couple of tablespoons to make your next batch
        7) After it sets strain it through cheesecloth for several hours in the fridge. Bingo, half a gallon of probiotic Greek yogurt for the price of a gallon of milk.

The starter lasts about a week in the fridge, the yogurt itself about 2 weeks.

It's not bad, but it's overhyped.

If you live in a dorm room or small apartment or some shit, I guess it's one device that can cook anything.

But it's hard to make food interesting, and ultimately if you have a kitchen and know how to use it, an instapot is a sort of gimmick.

I agree that the best use is cooking yogurt, but how often do I want to do that. Also decent as a small/easy sous vide.

Prove that it can cook anything?
It fries, it slow-cooks, it does sous vide, it pressure cooks (which is de facto a slow cooker that isn't so slow). Just it isn't great at any of these things.
