        Aren't you glad you didn't try cow liver? Seriously though, liver is something of an acquired taste, you have to get used to the different texture (it's not meat, it's an organ). You have to cook it right, season it right etc. There's a reason why most people don't eat it despite how healthy (and cheap) it is. I tried to drink eggs like Rocky once, never again. It's all part of the fun of getting fit.

          Liver tastes good raw, but only if it comes from a healthy animal - that means grassfed, grass-finished, no vaccines, and no antibiotics. If you cook it, it will taste like absolute shit. If you get liver from an unhealthy animal, it will taste like absolute shit. If you eat raw liver from a healthy ruminant, it tastes chocolatey and fricking delicious.

          It's so moronic that I have to repeat this in every liver thread because you homosexuals are too pussy to actually try raw meat. Even though I guarantee at least half of you would eat a rare steak without hesitation. Or sashimi if it was on an official menu at a restaurant.

      the joke there is that liver, fava beans AND chianti all had the amino acid (tyramine, tyrosine) that interferes badly with antipsychotics and mood stabilizers. The late, great Hannibal Lecter, by eating all of those at once without having a blood pressure spike, is demonstrating that he had been off his meds for a very long time

    its fricking disgusting and there is no way to make it taste better.

    Goose liver can be ok, it just tastes like lunchmeat, and chicken liver can be pretty mild too, but large animal liver is just fricking gross as shit.

    Never overcook liver. The outside should be seared in tallow, the inside raw.

    Salt and pepper it, optional garlic, marinade in red wine vinegar with bit of balsamic vinegar (the recipe is white wine but I don't keep wine in the house and vinegar is cheaper). Marinade the onions in this with it too overnight.
    You will actually enjoy it.

    How did you cook it? The only way to have liver is fried with onions. First slice the liver into strips. Fry the liver in butter and lightly salt it. Remove it from the pan then add in your onions. Once the onions are mostly caramelized add back in the liver and fry until the onions are done. It is the only way to eat it.
