Not OP but I've never seen a single pixel misbehave on an OLED screen and I used them since Galaxy S4+

I tried out Lineage recently and really enjoyed it, iirc it's the least controversial and most well maintained one out there

thats because you did not used it on full power..

i have the keyboard burned in the screen after 3y of FULL BRIGHTNESS on oled

it is burned in and annoying but it is a fricking phone and phones are being used like what? one hour per day? so i dont fricking care, good it is not a computer screen or TV then i would go crazy, thats why i dont buy oled screens..

phone, whatever i dont care, its a frickin phone for messages

I have been using oled phones for 10 years now. Nope.

          >thats because you did not used it on full power..
not him, but no It's not. I used a samsung s3 for over 3 years, always 100% brightness. I had a zerolemon 10'000mah (or so) massive battery in it. These days you can't even run 100% brightness if you use your phones, since you can't have big batteries like that anymore. And I had a 100% black status bar always. If anything, that should burn in. After 3 or so years I was able to see a barely visible difference in brightness where the status bar was, but only when I really tried to, in a completely dark room.
Never seen any burn-in on my oled phones since then.

However, on my IPS lg g4, I had really ugly red ghosting, much worse than I have ever seen on a oled in real life. Oh, and my desktop $500 IPS monitor also had ugly, noticeable IPS ghosting.

Yes the FP4 but as the number suggests it's the older and thus outdated phone.

never tried calyx but it seems good. Unless you deliberatly want to test drive linux on a phone.

I want the most privacy focused rom. I've been running AOSP since forever. I don't need any Google services at all.
LineageOS is probably better rooting wise since CalyxOS is designed to be relocked after flashing without root.

          >I want the most privacy focused rom
Probably PostMarketOS. It is also a massive c**t to get working. Expect to spend time in the terminal. A LOT of time.
It's secure because they build it off Alpine. Alpine's "hardened core" isn't really true: it uses AppArmor and Awall, and is built in musl (so exploits are less common). Still a massive prick to make it work. Camera will never work, either. RIP.

Yeah I've read into it and it's still in its infancy. Even Replicant was in better shape decade ago and that's a completely and utterly useless rom like anything Stallman touches

unless you're a "im gonna get hacked" schizo just go for lineageos or /e/os, they both get rid of israelitegle and that's what matters

If you go with lineage you get a mediocre security and some privacy. Stability and updates depend largely on the maintainer for the device.

Fairphone provides these updates and will for a pretty long time. They provide schematics for the newer phones too.

afaik GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are rootable

Yes but unable to relock unless you resign everything afaik

any other reliable manufacturer of easily repairable phone out there?

        Repairable phones are a meme
You can repair any phone just the same, the only difference is that they're easier to repair and way overpriced
Motorola still makes good phones with IPS screens and no slop android versions
