It's better than road cycling and it's hella fun but it's just mediocre cardio. Nothing beats swimming.

Not even in the same ballpark. It's a good workout and it's fun.
It's not going to build your vo2 like road cycling or running.
It's not as safe on the body as rowing.
It doesnt hit muscle groups like swimming
It's probably the most expensive cardio you can get into.
It is fun tho
