LOL yeah good point he got that strong because of his genetics only it has nothing to do with his lifestyle nice one

          Anonymous

His "lifestyle" doesn't explain why he's like that and other people aren't. There's plenty of people with his "lifestyle" who don't get that strong. It's genetics.

Always has been. That's why you do what you're good at, moron.

Yeah, and not being good at something which you'd like to be good at can be demoralizing.

If you trained like him maybe you wouldn't hit 180kg. But you'd probably hit at least 3 plates.

He's also a literal bench specialist who doesn't squat... (white shirt) It's a lot easier to hit 4 plates at 150 lbs if all you do is train bench.

some people are just genetically engineered for one lift, but probably not for other lifts.
Cailer Woolam for example is one of strongest deadlifters due to his long arms, but that also makes him a relatively weak bencher

His argument is that when he was prepubescent 10 year old his arms were small. Well no shit, you literally had no testosterone.
When puberty kicked in and his test skyrocketed, his big arms genetics were able to be expressed via lifting weights. Where are all the other naturals with 21" arms if it's not genetics?

Yeah, the people for whom "just train" works are precisely those who have good genetics. Which is my entire point.
          >Either way, it sure as hell beats b***hing on IST about your shitty bench
I don't see how complaining here is incompatible with training. Also, I've never complained about my bench.

            Anonymous

In my first post I said train for 20 years, not because most people will quit (they will) but because you will get stuck so many times and you will try everything under the sun to progress. From benching once every two weeks to benching 6 times a week, from gaining 5kg in a month to gaining 2kg a year.
OP is an example who responds very well to the bench.
On the other end of the spectrum you have someone like Matt Wenning who benches over 600 and couldn't bench 3 times a week for 12 weeks without getting all beat up.

You guys really need to understand when Lee is saying here.

Just accept that most of you will never make it and just train for enjoyment and not take it so seriously, you are just needlessly stressing yourself out. Or you can be delusional and keep training autistically with your special new routines and orthorexic diets and supplements and look the same after another few years, and then get frustrated and go on TRT/steroids and harm your health and hair like most geneticlets resort to as they were sold a lie by the delusional demoralizers who say "its not genetics, your are just not trying hard enough, try this moronic training program and diet, and take ashwaghanda, zinc, vitamin d and turkesterone. don't forget to eat 6 times a day and take your intraworkout glucose and BCAAs, I'm sure these things will overcome your genetically hardwired programming, lets just totally ignore that fact that muscle protein synthesis only happens via gene transcription".

        >they actually think this means that Ronnie Coleman has a different physiology than everyone

yes, he has better genetics than 99.9999% of people

Ronnie has more of a skeleton and thus more of a frame to put muscle on than I will ever have. He does not have magic cope receptors that I can't develop too if I scream like a maniac and squat several hundred lbs.

            People actually believe this.

Your muscle will adapt to stress. You just don't stress it.

Genetic Determinism is completely irrational. Read a biology book you morons.

First and foremost, pro bodybuilders (or athletes in general) have
better genetics than the rest of us. They are the genetic elite. This isn't some type of personal
grouse or whine, simply a statement of fact and reality. If you had their genetics, you wouldn't be
    reading this book.
If you look at pro bodybuilders in their early stages, they are still typically leaner and
bigger than the normal individual. From a physiological standpoint, they probably have higher
than average testosterone levels and don't overproduce cortisol. Thyroid levels are probably
optimal or close to it, helping to naturally optimize metabolic rate, fat burning and protein
    synthesis.
They have good skeletal muscle insulin sensitivity and tend to put calories into muscle
more effectively (i.e. they partition calories towards muscle instead of fat). They probably have
fewer fat cells than most people and that fat is evenly distributed (although even female pros
have problems with lower bodyfat). When they diet, they don't have as many problems with
metabolic slowdown. Their evenly distributed fat comes off easily and, since they can use fatty
acids easily for fuel, they don't lose as much muscle when they diet. All of these factors
    contribute to their success.

We can contrast that to the average individual who could have any number of potential
metabolic defects that prevents them from reaching their desired goals. Testosterone might be
on the low side of normal, cortisol production is elevated, thyroid or nervous system output may
be low (meaning a lower than optimal metabolic rate). Skeletal muscle insulin sensitivity is low
which means that excess calories get pushed towards fat cells more effectively. When these folks
diet, the brain tends to overreact, lowering metabolic rate (which probably wasn't optimal to
begin with). Fat loss slows to a crawl. Difficulties mobilizing bodyfat, along with problems with
testosterone and cortisol, lead to increased muscle loss. I could keep going but you get the idea.
I'm not just telling you this to depress you; consider it more of a reality check to make you
aware of what is and isn't possible. My point is that pro bodybuilders (hell, pro athletes of any
sort) are the genetic elite. You are not like them and they have advantages naturally that you
don't. Most importantly, trying to mimic what they do, or expecting their results, can only lead
you down an endless path of frustration

So much cope. Jesus Christ. When you live like them you will be like them. Yes, physiologically. The only thing you can't have is different attachment points or a different sized skeletal system.

Yeah, you get as much muscle as your frame can hold. Or you make shit up about molecular gains goblins and don't get shit. I'm doing the former.
