knee pain

So I have knee pain since I was like 12 years old, I still have the same knee pain even after 8 years, my knee pain is that bad that I can't even crouch/squat without feeling weakness and pain. My doctor says It's totally normal even if I'm young, should I start taking collagen or any other supplements?

I used to jump from the sofa right down to the floor on my knees as a kid. You have these issues because you never hardened your knee bones

sounds like you werent active as a kid and were probably fat. weak knees and supporting muscles/ligaments around them so that means you dont even lift now. go for one hour walks and start squatting or its over for you

I grew fat, but I started going to the gym 4 years ago, not skipping a single leg day. I often go on bicycle, walk and jog but It hurts even more. I also tried different exercises to strengthen my knees, they didn't work.

Both knees? Roughly where do you feel the pain? Also when you walk do you ever lock your lower legs fully back and strain the knee that way?

Yes both knees with the same amount of pain, on my right knee I feel pain on the center and it extends to the right side, and on my left knee I feel it on the center and it extends to the left side. Yes I fully lock them.

Have the same issue, squatting with anything more than the bar fricks them up (especially left) for weeks

See a physical therapist, doctors are only good for ordering pills or imaging

I went to a private and a public one. And they both told me I should get a radiography to see if it was a bone issue, I got one and they said everything was right with my bones and they both told me the pain was from me growing up.

If you cant pinpoint exactly what the cause is (ligament, meniscus, tendon etc) then it could just be either tight muscles or something in the hip or ankle. Im finally getting over a few months of knee pain where after trying a bunch of different things and having no improvement rolling my leg muscles as well as directly behind the knee seems to be working (using something like picrel)

I'm gonna buy of them and hope It's a muscle issue.

Hopefully, on the upside if it isnt muscular those arent expensive and youll still get some use out of it

Glucosamine and a lot of water. Do lateral movements like resistance band side steps to train the joint

Collagen just breaks down into aminos like any other protein. It won't make you produce more collagen.

I used to have this issue, squats largely fixed it.
