So I have knee pain since I was like 12 years old, I still have the same knee pain even after 8 years, my knee pain is that bad that I can't even crouch/squat without feeling weakness and pain. My doctor says It's totally normal even if I'm young, should I start taking collagen or any other supplements?
bump
look into the knees over toes guys stuff, game changing, also frick ur doctor that is in no way normal even for old people
I used to jump from the sofa right down to the floor on my knees as a kid. You have these issues because you never hardened your knee bones
homie do you stretch? my long time knee pain diminished until it disappeared thru stretching
yes I do stretch daily and I used to stretch with deep squats
sounds like you werent active as a kid and were probably fat. weak knees and supporting muscles/ligaments around them so that means you dont even lift now. go for one hour walks and start squatting or its over for you
I grew fat, but I started going to the gym 4 years ago, not skipping a single leg day. I often go on bicycle, walk and jog but It hurts even more. I also tried different exercises to strengthen my knees, they didn't work.
Both knees? Roughly where do you feel the pain? Also when you walk do you ever lock your lower legs fully back and strain the knee that way?
Yes both knees with the same amount of pain, on my right knee I feel pain on the center and it extends to the right side, and on my left knee I feel it on the center and it extends to the left side. Yes I fully lock them.
Have the same issue, squatting with anything more than the bar fricks them up (especially left) for weeks
I used to squat 80kg and it hurt the same as if I squat without weight. feelsbadman
See a physical therapist, doctors are only good for ordering pills or imaging
I went to a private and a public one. And they both told me I should get a radiography to see if it was a bone issue, I got one and they said everything was right with my bones and they both told me the pain was from me growing up.
gelatin
bone soup
turmeric
Thanks, I'm gonna try everything except the bone soup.
If you cant pinpoint exactly what the cause is (ligament, meniscus, tendon etc) then it could just be either tight muscles or something in the hip or ankle. Im finally getting over a few months of knee pain where after trying a bunch of different things and having no improvement rolling my leg muscles as well as directly behind the knee seems to be working (using something like picrel)
I'm gonna buy of them and hope It's a muscle issue.
Hopefully, on the upside if it isnt muscular those arent expensive and youll still get some use out of it
Not OP but I dislocated my knee and had pain for a year and they never even attempted to pinpoint what exactly was hurt
Look up kneesovertoesguy and do his exercises. Backwards sledding fixed my knee pain pretty quickly
I'm gonna try some of exercises and maybe they'll help me, thanks.
EVERYONE DO THIS. The book is definitely worth the $20, this one requires no equipment.
You can also get it for FREE.
This, I grew up a skatergay jumping down stairs and fricked my knees up that way, but fixed them with exercises from kneesovertoesguy.
His old stuff was more informative but they’re unlisted on youtube now. You can find them if you look it up on reddit though
my knees have cracked when I move then ever since I was a little kid, I had some patellar tendon pain a few months. MSM and some time off helped and now I feel pretty good
Does anyone have more tips on how to fix knee pain?
Knees over toe guy
His free stuff on YouTube helped fix my knees. Takes time and patience.
Think all the useful advice has already been said, just consistency at this point
Well, thanks to everyone, I'm gonna try all the tips and maybe I could start squatting again,
you should prob look at the kneesovertoesguy on youtube and follow his advice, he had shit knee genetics and busted a knee cap and is now jumping around playing basketball
I'd suggest you get some knee pads or stop sucking so much wiener
Your dr is a clown. Go see a physiotherapist.
Glucosamine and a lot of water. Do lateral movements like resistance band side steps to train the joint
Collagen just breaks down into aminos like any other protein. It won't make you produce more collagen.
I used to have this issue, squats largely fixed it.
