that would make the graph not look as pretty though. Just goes to show how bs this ~~*data*~~ is.

It's not bullshit, it just makes it possible to compare weight among people with different heights. Not the chart's fault you use it to determine obesity without accounting for body fat percentage.

          Anonymous

it is bullshit cause it skips numbers throughout the entire ~~*dataset*~~ for it to look pretty and ~~*symmetrical*~~ making it seem like weight and height are accounted for equally in bmi which it isn't considering it skips numbers.

If you noticed the chart goes by inches and 10lb increments. No numbers have been skipped. If you've done ANY kind of chart or graph reading you'd know this. Way to out yourself as someone who didn't go to college

The bmi instead of being continuous say 18-40 it skips numbers where it is convenient, jesus. to make the sections diagonally to make it seem proportional the x and y axis being.

Think about it. If you were 160 lean muscle you'd be the perfect ottermode. Sure you wouldn't be crazy strong, but unless you're on roids you're not going to be lean enough to get mires. Ottermode always beats out gymcel

You can always calculate it yourself or just estimate the range between 19BMI and 21BMI

that would make the graph not look as pretty though. Just goes to show how bs this ~~*data*~~ is.

      >because the graph looks pretty the data is false

"weight" as an indicator of health is so moronic. A 100kg skinnyfat is just a healthy as a 100kg athlete according to BMI, its fricking moronic.

      Anonymous

100kg isn't healthy anywhere on the chart, but since I know what you mean...

BMI assumes you have minimal exercise experience, the PE classes from highschool. Back then you wouldn't be skinny fat as you'd be eating properly and forced to exercise as a part of your circiculum. Skinnyfat is only a thing now because of the prevelance of processed foods and lack of exercise requirements.

Nowadays you can go off of BMI+bodyfat% if you want the most accurate health estimate but using BMI as a single metric is still accurate. The more you weigh the fatter you will be. It's just how the body works. Outside of steroids there is no way to be muscular without also being fat

Maybe for a woman. For men it's 12% BF. BMI will usually fall below 25 at 12% BF natty so it certainly is important though.

      Anonymous

No way you'll be anything above 20 with 12% bodyfat as a natty. You have roiders confusing your brain. 12% bodyfat is only obtainable at low BMIs

    > IST people still follow medieval health measurements founded by an accountant in which display all men which bodies hold a reasonable amount of muscle as overweight
(with completely lack of consideration of the ratio between bodyfat percentage and muscle or if you simply cheated your bmi for a couple of days)

hopefully things will be better in 2024
