Life time fatty here who routinely fights biology and gets in shape every 1-2 years with autistic tier calorie counting to drop 20+kgs then gains it all back the second I ease up.

Is it actually possible to fit things like chocolate and ice cream into a normal functioning diet? I really want to try come up with a "normal" diet I can do forever, I either go hard on fasting or low carb or I get fat but I really want a middle ground but CICO doesn't seem to work

    >ice cream
No. How can you fit something worth half your daily caloric intake with almost no way to satiate into a sustainable diet?
    >chocolate
    Probably yes.

get blood work, you could be pre-diabetic or similar. insulin resistance is real, despite how people here will tell you to "just eat less". considering the question: yes its possible, I eat both (and more) regularly and have difficulties even maintaining weight. the real issue is usually portion sizes, where calorie counting does come in handy again.

CICO doesn't work for sustaining because he stops doing it - he explicitly says it works for weight loss

My bloodsugar was good when I got bloodwork done but I was over 1 month into strict keto so the fact that it wasn't on the low end of the scale kind of worries me

only sensible insulin resistance test ist HOMA-IR and fasting insulin levels. your blood work on the pic you posted are markers for diabetes mellitus, which you dont have yet. doesnt really mean anything

Chocolate maybe, but ice cream is the fricking worst. I can eat a huge meal to the point where I would feel sick eating another mouthful of food, but then I can still suck down another 800cal of ice cream no problems.

No, butthole. See, you just do these things now. There is no "do this for a set amount of time and you're good" scenario. You live the way healthy people live, or you don't.

Yeah because you are not learning a long term sustainable approach to dieting. You need to learn to new permanent habits to remain at your new weight. You don't learn to do that when you do moron shit like fasting and low carb or whatever shit you try. If you had been doing CICO you would know by now that yes its 100% entirely possible to have a chocolate and ice cream in your diet. But you never learned that because your moron fricking fasting low carb fad diet shit.

CICO works, if you been autistic about counting calories then you should this by now. Do a CICO 50% carb, 25% fat, 25% protein or whatever fits, enjoy getting leaner, enjoy having some chokolate and ice cream in your diet while hitting your daily calories.

Like what the frick you doing? "CICO dosn't work" ?! yes it does

why don't you opt for low calorie options there are alot of them now but more expensive or try those recipes where you blend your own. ice cream and chocolate is basically dense high calorie liquid food that is not satiating at all if you're a fat frick you should track how much you eat

and its so normal for people to gain back their weight after they are done with dieting because they start relaxing. You got to keep counting calories for ever and you got to keep weighting your self. Without these measures like 90+% gain back their weight over time. When you get consistent with it and do it for a long time you can relax and only count calories on some days instead of every day, but its something you are going to have to stick with.

      >you got to keep weighting your self
this is the way. it's impossible to gain 20kg if you weigh yourself daily. when you gain this much there's usually a lot of DENIAL involved. regularly weighing yourself keeps you honest and accountable.

Just fast for at least 2 days before or after you consume a ton of shit. On sunday I consume like 4-6k calories of shit and I don't eat monday and tuesday. I do 45-60 mins of cardio 5 days a week and I lift. I even lose weight through this method.

no, candy isnt supposed to be part of your diet, youre an adult. they are occasional treats. so are liquid calories, like soda

    >routinely fights biology and gets in shape every 1-2 years with autistic tier calorie counting to drop 20+kgs then gains it all back the second I ease up
    are you me?
i get absolutely jacked and shredded at 80kg and then at some point stop lifting and start eating garbage, balloon up to nearly 100kg. the disappointed look on people's faces....

i think it's important to figure out why you get complacent and let yourself go, and fix the issue. for me, i usually get super motivated when i'm single, but then eventually i find myself in a long term relationship, and even though i don't >lift for girls, i still just become lazy and after a while it spirals out of control. i look like shit and feel like shit and obviously my relationship turns to shit as well because i turn into a depressed bum, then I'm single again, next thing you know I'm counting those calories...

I was just never able to properly maintain long term. I don't blame biology, i blame lack of willpower

I just broke free from that curse recently. What worked for me was getting into a routine and being super strict about. From past mistakes i learned if i gave myself any leeway the whole diet and routine would crumble. Also helps that my gf finally understands why i have to be so strict and autistic to get into shape and now she doesn't give me shit about it. Before she used to complain about me being too "strict" on my diet since it would limit the places we could eat together and she thought it wasn't a big deal if i broke my diet for a meal. I sometimes gave in to please her and eventually it became the norm. Now none of those things happen so I'm free from any distractions.

CICO people will tell you yes, and they are technically right. But in practice, you'd be eating so little chocolate and ice cream (and dealing with sugar crashes) you'd be hungry and feel like shit all the time - hungrier than if you ate something healthy.

You can eat as much as you like and whatever you like if you burn enough calories. I drink coke and eat ice cream almost every single day yet I'm nowhere near overweight because I also run around 10 km a day
