Eat grass-fed ground beef. Selenium can also help detox mercury and other heavy metals.

I can't eat sardines or most fish without severe heartburn. I'm perfectly fine eating shellfish though. What gives?

Probably the fish oil? I know when I cook eggs with oil I get heartburn, but when I cook eggs with no oil, no heartburn.

You're allergic to fish. That gives.

Heartburn is usually from the oil in salmon or sardines which are both high in oils.
Pollock, cod or haddock or something will have less oil. I don't know what the fish are called in english, but I mean the white flesh ones. I get heartburn easily and alaskan pollock is fine for me. Low in calories, high in protein and cheap as hell. Easy to eat and cook to. Only problem is I start to smell like fish if I eat too much too often.

how would this make your life "easy mode"?

I am 6'1 and 240 pounds. Have been overweight all my life but generally carry it pretty well. I'm not a picky eater, but its hard for me to stick to a diet for whatever psychological reasons (lack of discipline stemming from ??? I'm not really sure), but canned Tuna is unironically my favourite food, and it is incredibly cheap. If I could eat 3 of these a day with a salad, not only would I save shed the weight so fast, I would save so much money. I have a good job, but an expensive mortgage, so it would be so nice to save money.
Eating tuna every day becoming bland would not be an issue either, I have weird food autism where I have phases where I eat the same thing every day for 2-3 months straight.

        >if only I could eat 3 little of cans of smelly fish I would be all lean and jacked n shit
        fatty cope
You could just use chicken or some other fish ot just maybe EATLESS but you wont.
So you blame it not being able to shovel tuna down into your fat face because muh Hg

I did fast a lot and ate healthy off fast before, and got down to 190. Then I started working from home and my discipline slid for the past 3 years and I gained 50 pounds. It was very hard for me to lose that weight, if only I could stuff myself with tuna cans, that would make it easy. Its not really cope if I am saying it would make something easier. I am admitting I am a failure and wish I could go easy mode.

I didn't blame shit on mercury. I basically said "wouldn't it be cool if", and it would make life easier. I'm not moronic enough to blame being fat on tuna cans moron.
I'll be honest, I just wanted to make a thread about tuna because I'm autistic and I love it so much, and it's a great food for lifters too

If you eat light tuna instead of albacore, the mer ury is a lot lower. Also, selenium in the tuna itself and selenium in your diet (like some brazil nuts) or from supplements will neutralize the mercury from the tuna in your body. As long as your selenium levels are higher, the mercury will bond with it and your body will pass it. Just don't go over on selenium, because too mcuh selenium is also bad.

I would go to a doctor ASAP because that's unrelated to the sardines. The whole point of sardines is that they are low on the food chain so they don't accumulate a lot of toxins in their tissues.

Yeah but can you eat canned shit raw? Is it even actually "raw" in the first place?

Nope. All preserved fish is cooked, as far as I know. And even when it isn't, it has lots of nasty shit like the seed oils it's preserved in, the metal from the can, or the plastic lining from the inside.

I personally am lucky that where I live, fish can be dirt cheap. I can get fresh tuna cheaper than the canned shit. And when not, there's always mackerel that's pretty similar to it.
If you can't get it fresh at a reasonable price, it's better not to eat it at all.

Hate to break it to you but the shit you buy from the market is filled with heavy metals and plastics too. It's the waters not the cans
And no they dont put seedoils in canned fish unless you deliberately buy them in sunflower oil or something

Mwanwhile, this is your average can of tuna-in-water. Many of the ones near me put ꜱoybean oil in the tuna-in-water and mix the tuna-in-EVOO with ꜱoybean oil as well

OP Here, good to know, I just checked 3 seperate brands of cans I have in my fridge, 2/3 were Tuna, Water, Salt as the ingridients, but of course the Wal Mart brand one mentions that it may contain Onions and Wheat.

Also I noticed some of my cans are expired, that shouldn't be an issue right

You would have to eat around 25 tins (at 95g a tin) of it a week before you hit the maximum tolerable intake of mercury

Eat sardines. Ive eaten 1 can a day of king oscar sardines in oil for the last 5 years or so. Got a heavy metals test last spring and all levels were normal.

I just alternate canned tuna with eggs for lunch every other day. It works and it's not too much. I suggest not eating it every single day.

I know what you mean, bro. It's cheap, easy to make delicous tuna salad and cal to protein ratio is great.

If I wasnt afraid of the metals or whatever else I would be having big tasty tuna wraps for dinner 4-5 times a week.
