It's ok. People only post their numbers if they exceed the norm. Its harder for a sedentary shut in to reach 3pl8 squat than for people who played sports to. And hey, at least you got dubs

Truth. I didn't step into a gym til I was 23 and was a shut in NEET before hand. My progress was slow, I was inflexible and stiff, and couldn't use my body properly. Today I can do 2/3/4/5, which for how pathetic I was before is insane to think about.. Just keep moving.

No, even those people can reach 1/2/3/4 easily in their first year just by training seriously.

thats not bad. youre comparing yourself to people that more serious about lifting than you.

Literally how? I’ve been training my brother who’s never lifted before for 6 months, and he’s already squatting 245, benching 175, and deadlifting 3 plates. Gonna get him a nice lifting belt for Christmas and watch his numbers skyrocket

Chances are you aren’t pushing yourself hard enough.

I spent 2 years tiring myself out on reddit PPL like a moron.

    Barely made any progress

    Estimated 1 rep max
    Squat 198
    Bench 154
    Deadlift 275
    Press 104.5

Figured it was a recovery issue and recently switched to 5/3/1 FSL (+ a ton of accessories)

Some people are meant for speed or endurance, not strength and size. You'd make a great sprinter, long distance hiker, swimmer, or kickboxer.

everyone is meant to be strong
      weakness is an abnormal condition
1 2 3 4 is not a big deal, except for modern mental midgets

135kg bench in a year would be extremely impressive and massively disproportionate.

    depends on starting position
for example, for this guy, your results would be almost impossible to achieve

Is it more than what you did last month? And less than what you'll lift next month?
Then you're doing great, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
It's not a competition, you only have to beat your past self.

I lifted for a year and saw shit progress
then went to college and took liting seriously - did an augmented SS, augmented as to not look like shit at the end of it. saw big gains, biggest lessons were
    >consistent program - no "fricking around"
    >trying to progress every session - one of the best ideas I got out of rippedtoe
    >eating a lot - 3 meals minimum(this was HUGE for my energy/health/physique), eat clean tho squats+oats=big gains
    >autistic focus on technique - if you injure yourself its a really really big deal

If your actually consistent and using 2.5lb or 5lb plates to increase weight in incriminates you just need to eat high calorie shit. Pasta with meat sauce is easy mode and will give you bunch of calories protein and energy
