olympic / elite athletes are not comparable to the average person in regards to exercise and training.
"In the Italian study of 947 Olympian athletes, all 15 athletes (1.7%) with LVH participated in either rowing, canoeing, or cycling. The British experience of over 3000 athletes also identified LVH in athletes participating in swimming, football, rugby, and tennis. Contrary to popular belief, athletes participating in pure isometric sports such as weight lifting or wrestling rarely exhibit an LVWT >12 mm"
The incidence rate is also ~2%, which is low compared to the general population and CVD rates.
only MODERATE exercise is good , moron, lifting weightsis not moderate and it is bad because, unlike walking or biking, it causes your heart to swell, it praticaly becomes big too like the other muscles and this is associated with a lot hazards.
Implying the exercise 99% of people do in a gym is anything other than moderate... exercise doesn't have negative health affects until your incredibly specialised as an athlete.
Resistance training is super important for quality of life in old age due to increased bone density and skeletal muscle.
also lifting heavy weights causes very high blood pressure during exercises that will deform your heart. Do your own research if you don't trust me

Yes, bodybuilding is really bad for your health, bodybuilders don't care (see) or will deny it the evidence.
They also eat whey protein wich it's been scientifically proven to cause diabetes (pic related). They will also deny it.
Bodybuilding is only gppd for aesthetics ( this is also questionable) but will frick up your health and decrease your life span and quality of life when you get over 50.
both are bad for your heart, no amount of american moronic "studies" can disprove this. Post non american ones at least.

Excessive exercise and excessive lifting is damaging to the heart for sure. The good thing about exercise is that it doesn't take a whole lot of it to reap the benefits. It takes significantly less weight than people think to stimulate a muscle response.
But the most benefits just come from reducing metabolic disorders like diabetes and reducing the effects of sarcopenia as we age.

High insulin doesn't mean you have diabetes.
Why do people who lift weights and consume whey have less type 2 diabeetus than gays like you anon?
Also, why do fats with diabeetus need to take insulin? Why not just take whey? My tiny little brain can't puzzle out all this information. I need your help internet stranger.
Also, post body. I want to see how many chins you have, for a totally unrelated reason
A study published in 2017 in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise (MSSE) analyzed data from more than 35,000 women for more than a decade. Researchers found that those who performed resistance training had a 30 percent lower chance of being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes than those who did not.
Meanwhile, women who performed any amount of resistance training reduced their risk of cardiovascular disease (including heart attack, stroke, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, an angioplasty or death from cardiovascular disease) by 17 percent.
hypertrophy is one of the healthiest ways to resistance train, since it involves less loads and more reps and thus more cardio benefits. The pump is extremely good for the heart and builds metabolites / satellite cells so that you can better utilize nutrients and it improves bloodflow.
>what is resistance training
A form of physical training involving producing force against external resistance, e.g. lifting weights. >what is hypertrophy training
A form of resistance training where you adjust training parameters to match whatever broscience believes is optimal for triggering muscular protein synthesis this week.

I agree that heavy lifting and high volume lifting is overprescribed and ineffective.
I notice you can get the same amount of activation, if not more, by just going MEDIUM on a lot of workouts. Especially lifts like good mornings, deadlifts, hinges, etc.... you can get a lot of activation just going medium and focusing on turning your muscles on as opposed to just getting the weight up.

does this go for all forms of whey protein? I imagine isolate might not trigger the same response?

No, pretty much any protein powder thats high in amino acids leucine, isoleucine, valine, lysine will cause an insulin spike.
But that doesnt matter if you eat like a normal person and are not obese.

Broscience is unironically far ahead of actual science when it comes to musculr hypertrophy
Broscience has had 100 years and hundreds of thousands of actually jacked people performing live experimentation on what works and what doesn't. Modern sports science cannot compete with the vast scope of broscience.

Cardio brings my heart rate up much more than lifting.
by doing cardio you dont squeeze your muscles like when lifting , so your peripherical vessels can compensate the pressure
