Lifting while on vacation

I'll be going to Japan for two weeks and the places I'm staying don't have a gym. How much muscle mass would I lose if I don't lift for two weeks? I'm thinking about running every morning and doing calisthenics in place of my usual lifts to counteract the losses and keep my momentum up

consider your protein goals while on vacation. Japan is perfect, eat a shitload of sashimi, octopus and wagyu. skip running, you're going to walk a shitload anyways.

      Almost none.
If you lose any strength in 2 weeks it's because you'd been overtraining so much and so long your neurons were just waiting for their oppertunity to slack off. You're not going to lose any significant amount of mass or detrain in that time unless you're going on some kind all alcohol no protein bender.

Do not run everyday, you should be walking an active a lot each day already and could overdo it. I think some body weight stuff every other day is likely fine. Just treat this like a 2 week deload and refeed. I'm sure your central nervous system would benefit from a break. Each protein at each meal and you won't lose any muscle mass in 2 weeks

you're not gonna lose anything because of two weeks rest, if anything you're gonna gain strength

Thanks guys. I already run 10-30 minutes daily on top of lifting, and I think it'd be nice to do some runs while in the country. If two weeks of no lifting isn't going to effect me negatively, I'll compromise with keeping it to just the running

      Stay out of my country!!

for two weeks its going to be a hassle to set up membership in Japanese gyms because of the paperwork involved and prices being higher than normal...

What the frick, I had no idea. Like obviously the CNS is used for lifting, but I didn’t think it could be stressed. I thought it just worked, like the cables in your house

Depends on how hard you go. This was my progress after 3 weeks of daily drinking and 4 meals a day in japan with no exercise. Whats nice though is that once you get fit its pretty easy to get back to your baseline. Took me like 2 weeks to unfrick myself. VERY worth it. Gotta have your priorities straight, living life takes priority over gymceling always. The time there made me so happy that Im working 10x harder in the gym and kitchen and making my best gains. Miss my waifus though. Ill see them again soon though.
