That's a great routine tbh, as long as your dumbbells go heavy enough.

dumbbell squat and deadlift have to be stupid though, right?

whats so dumb about it? your body doesn't care if you hold a barbell, a dumbbell, a band or a handle. all it cares for is the load you put on the muscle.
yes—these things may provide different mechanics, like the resistance curve on, e.g., dumbbell curl is different from a curl with bands; position of your body changes, weight distribution also changes, and so on. but if your muscle is under enough load, all these things are secondary.
hell—there's a reason why they use hex bar for deadlifts. because barbell is simply inconvenient, the bar gets in the way. rows? dumbbells are often the top main choice for them. tricep exercises? no need for barbell on them. curls? same. and so on.

They'll only get stupid once it becomes impractical to use a bigger dumbbell, which depends on how he's gripping.
Big ass plates on the inside would make deadlifts strange, but not impossible or unsafe. He could also do them at his sides like a hex bar dl and have no problem.
I'm not sure how he's holding them for squats, though, since he does differentiate goblet squats. A db front rack would get pretty uncomfortable at high weights. Zercher is infeasible. Maybe hack squat style? He could just switch to split squats when it gets weird anyway.

What does YOUR routine look like, you psychopath?

I always thought you couldn't do much with dumbbells, and only like 6 exercises a day on top of it? I'm experiencing mandela effect with this stuff, I'd have started lifting years ago if I knew this.

is this some kind of weird bait where you actually want feedback on your routine and you are just lying aobut your bro? If so just be honest and ask straight forward if the routine is good or not. What kind of db's you- i mean your brother have?

looks like regular disc dumbbells with many different plates (1lb, 2lb, 4lb...)

        “Only 6 exercises a day”

I promise you 1 exercise per body part is enough if you’re actually training to failure.

Pushing one movement hard and getting as strong as you can while not wasting energy on a second movement that trains the exact same muscle in the exact same way > doing 3-5 different movements half assed cause only the first movement will possibly get the full value of your energy

that seems fine, but if you think he's got "too big" during these 7 months, and he's younger, then he's probably on sarms

Make sure to incline the bench a little bit so it doesn't drop on your nutsack

I do dumbell exercises for almost everything as well. It's at the point where I'm stronger on dumbells than barbell. 6 months in and I do 34kg dumbells for 10 on bench but can only do 65kg for 10 on barbell bench. I've never heard of squat dumbells before though. I can't imagine how the frick you can get a heavy enough weight above your shoulders that is actually meaningful. Even doing front squats with a dumbell I feel you'd be getting let down by what you are able to grip and hold. I.e. front squatting a 60kg dumbbell would be stupidly hard compared to just loading the same amount onto a barbell and front squatting it.

Consistency and progressive overload (in whatever form you prefer) are the only things that matter. Training at all is a million times more optimal than arguing online about what does or doesn't work.

Personally I haven’t done an upper/lower routine but I’m happy with my progress with db ppl. Mainly just wanted to give kudos on that Excel tism, formatting is very nice.
