Living with smoker for couple of months, how fucked am I?

Hello, long story short gonna live with an indoor smoker for 3 months total while I'm in between contracts, 1 month has passed.

I already feel like I'm getting fine lines and dark circle under my eyes, can smoke damage my skin this fast?

I'm only worried about skin health, really.

I have my own room with windows open 24/7 and I spend maybe 4 hours in "common area" where he smokes daily maybe 1 pack every 3 days.

I heard smoke never really leaves even if you don't smell it, and it goes into every room.

Anyway, how fricked am I skin wise? Thanks

My great grandfather has been smoking since he was a pre-teen and he lived until 95. You're probably fine.

Not worried about living long, I mostly wanna keep my youthful look as long as possible and not irreversible damage my skin. I don't wanna age 3 years in 3 months.

Because he's in a wheelchair and I live here for free, basically.

Why can't this fricking indoor smoker use a balcony or at least a window?

If he is letting you live there rent-free, putting up with smoking is far, far better than burning a significant chunk of your salary.

Just drink water and walk when it is dark outside. Avoid alcohol and smoke like the plague. Maybe use a CPAP machine when you're sleeping too.

Yes, sunlight exposure damages you, and doing a bit of cardio is generally good for you. Funnily enough, when I go on my daily 10k walk, I do smoke about 5 cigarettes during the walk.

Well that's harder to avoid, I work outside but I always wear sunscreen.

yeah. You freaking out and obsessing about it is probably doing more damage than the smoke at this point

This is what life was like in the eighties and nineties. Your parents smoked and you just dealt with being hotboxed 24/7. It sucks, but most of us aren't dropping dead of lung cancer if we didn't take up the habit ourselves. I despise smokers. There is no such thing as a considerate smoker. I have more respect for a junkie that shoots up in private than a smoker.

Same. Second hand smoke has really bad effects on kids growing up. Can increase your risk of asthma and other breathing issues.
