I'm not afraid of surgery but I am afraid of the cost of it. I'm poor as shit. I've been obese for over a decade so I know I'm fricked. But the truth is I'd rather be a healthy loose gross monster than dead. Maybe I can get away with wearing the right clothes and never getting naked to frick somehow...

You know what, you're right, trying to give advices that aren't part of the "mainstream" in this board is a waste of time
I highly suggest you to not try it, and to not bother researching on it either, just go straight to surgery, maybe you can get an insurance or something

                [...]
How long to dry fast for this?

Depends on how much flaps you have, but it is the same as regular fasting, following a 36h to 72h on and off routine
72h is the farthest you should go as to keep it safe, going longer is possible but gets more extreme and dangerous, going the longer but safer route is better and risk free

If I knew this would've happened back when I became fat, I would have done a lot more to stop it. Nobody knew about this in the 90's. The whole idea was no matter how fat you got, you could just lose weight and be a normal person again. Nobody ever talked about loose skin or the health damage that being obese causes. In a way, they still don't and most fat people only find out about this sometime when they finally wake up and are ready to do the right thing.

I try not to blame it on other things since I was the one who always chose to put the food in my mouth but it's frustrating when in this instance in my personal case, it came down to ignorance. I played a lot of sports up until I was in my 20's and it offset my horrible diet since I knew nothing about food. Then I got injured playing football. Then I got fat since I was no longer exercising like crazy. I was just ignorant and nobody taught me any better and it was before nutrition and fitness knowledge was really widespread.

In 1990, 1 in 10 adults were obese by BMI, and most of that was not grossly obese like we have today. Today, 1 in 3 people are obese. And most are grossly obese. Average male weight was 180 then and is now 200.

    This is a demotivation thread.
Having side effects of weightloss is better than being fat. There are no exceptions. If it truly was worse you could always go back, that's the easy part. But once you managed to reach normal weight, you won't want to, life is so much better on the other side.
Just because you cannot achieve 100% perfection doesn't mean improvement isn't possible or worthwhile.
Read https://weight-loss-side-effects.netlify.app/ for weightloss, gyno and stretch marks.
And remember: Gains goblins and demotivation tards are everywhere, do not fall for their trickery.

Well, I am already "deep" into the weight loss process and just started to get some loose skin, but not a lot though. It is really tough to see what's going on there to be really honest.
If it is at the "2 bad its overz" stage, I just hope to salvage something before it is way way to late.

Some is normal and it will even go back over next 2 years or so. Body dysmorphia is also a b***h, it takes a while for your self image to sync more with reality again. Chances are it's so little most people won't even notice and even the few that do won't care.
Also from personal experience it felt like I saw most of the actual looks gains from my weightloss towards the last third of the weightloss, though that probably also depends on how much you lose overall.

Are you saying to just get the tummy tuck? My thighs are disgusting and my arms also sag.

Also are you saying as in like, get it right now, then lose more later? I honestly was just gonna cut till abs, but I'd probably be hospitalized before that huh, lmao.

No, your reward for losing weight is not dying in your 30s of a heart attack. The loose skin is your punishment for letting yourself go and getting morbidly obese in the first place.

Not a fat so I have no idea how this shit works, but is skin reduction surgery usually covered under health insurance? I'd imagine for most it would be like plastic surgery so not really. Maybe only covered if it gets really bad and infected or something?

as far as I'm ware it's 100% uncovered because it's "cosmetic" unless yeah, it's medically prescribed almost, than it's kinda covered not really still pretty sure. It's like 30k for mine

          > I weighed 180 in second grade
Damn bro do you have any resentment against your family for letting you get that big so young?

I mean still to this day they eat the same dogshit, they buy the same 73 27 meat, they do everything they always did. So at this point no because I see no point, but yeah when I'm not feeling to hot I'm usually malding at the thought. But when I explain to you IN FULL, and give you different articles, videos, and books to read about nutrition, and then you come and ask me are oats good for you. I just don't really know anymore.

It's also sort of a product of the family, everyone is obese, everyone eats these loaded to the grill high calorie delicous meals. I have to say no almost everyday to a monstrous concoction, the worst part is that it causes me to fricking binge when I break. Because I can only say no so many times before you just break you know, then it piles on. I remember it got to the point where I just had to let the fast food go bad on the counter before they took the hint as well.

It was one of the reasons I gained the 15 back yeah. Not because I believed it, but I just used it as a back in my mind cope. But yeah, all I ever hear from grandma is stop losing weight (even after telling her I gained 15 she said well good you don't need to lose more), my mom literally doesn't give a shit if I binge eat my 3rd box of donuts for the week so she just doesn't care. Dad cares but doesn't say much, he's probably the only one who wants me to actually lose more. And If I mention it to a co-worker he's like hell yeah brother you gotta enjoy life and eat that food you can lose it later.

its not malice. i think its fear; because you are setting a standard. it hurts even more when you make it a standard they can match. like,

In the case of my dad and mother, it did hit a point where I got genuinely ill, this was do to poor diet practice (lack of fats), and not weight loss.

I think for the most part, aside from not wanting to get mogged or something ill found. There USED to be a legit concern if someone was getting skinny. That compiled with the average persons basic understanding of nutrition, it would make sense as to why they would assume you are taking unsafe measures to achieve weightloss, because they are all fed the same shittty starving diets, and shilled the same things. So lack of knowledge essentially.

With that being said, most of the time peoples diet is a form of extreme dieting, but the people who don't extreme diet don't even realize they are being assumed to do that you know.

Would it be hipócrital to get this surgery? See I was 350 in 2019. I'm 255 today. My goal is 200 then maybe lower. I digress. I hate plastic surgery on a moral/philosophical level. Fake breasts, redone noses, new jaw, etc. Shit, I don't even like tattoos or piercings. I don't have the super loose skin yet but I will. I don't know what to think. It doesn't seem medically necessary which is one of my requirements for any bodily augmentation.

I look at it in the sense of my diet, attempt to be as natural and unman made as possible.

With that being said, obesity is man made, so therefor the only way to get rid of it is through man made creations, I.E plastic surgery.

      That's my cope though...

Existence is a series of copes. Your cope seems to be aligned with my current diet and motivation: Return to nature/monke. You've given me a reason to doubt my stance and reconsider surgery.

I never saw this as a reward lmao. I'm the turbolard who lost some weight, but I never once considered my health as one of the main reasons to do it. I'd honestly rather die at 25 living it up than muh discipline till 80. If I knew my life was short lived I wouldn't spend it dieting, maybe getting strong as FRICK but not dieting, BUT since I know binge eating Mickey D's isn't gonna take me out, I guess I have to workout and eat a nutritious diet so my 60 year old bones dont go kaput huh...

One of my buddies has a lot of loose skin around his stomach, he said that every time he sees it it's a positive reminder of how far he's come. He was 6'4 280lbs (193cm 127kg) to 170lbs (77kg)

Then he kinda went off the deep end, developed bulimia, and dropped to 120lbs (54.5kg). We've been trying to help him out and he's put on some good weight recently
