Lost Abilities

Seems we're at an age where science might be finally acknowledging some lost human abilities that we have forgotten through industrialization.
Wim Hoff is one example, the ability to control your body temperate through breathing is fricking rad, not to mention all of the other secondary benefits.

What are some other lost abilities that we could start practicing to unlock antediluvian Human abilities?

        >In 1982, in Mexico, youngsters who had been taught VIS () were featured in a television presentation; following up a few years later, psycho-physiologist Jacobo Grinberg-Zylberbaum, who had contributed to the TV show, designed his own teaching program for children. “In less than an hour,” he wrote, “six or seven kids saw extraocularly.” Some of the children developed “omnidirectional perception” and learnt to see in the dark (infra-red VIS has since been separately demonstrated). They could even perceive “organs inside the human body” (internal body-scanning, e.g., for diagnosis) and “destroy pathogens by emitting... energy from their fingers.” This work was curtailed when the children further developed these kinetic and then telepathic powers: [W]e continued...for several months until both the director of the school and the parents forbade us to continue because the children were guessing their thoughts, moved objects at a distance, and began to challenge their entire worldview.

I had a similar "feat" In scouts, we all had large sticks to beat each other with for fun. For whatever reason I felt a particular connection to mine and had some kids hide it in the woods in a tree. Without looking or having any idea of where they put it I felt a "pull" towards where it was and walked where I felt the pull, ended up walking a full circle around this evergreen tree before stopping, confused. I looked at the tree where the "pull" was coming from and it was there way inside in the tree branches, nearly impossible to see.

This stuff is hard to believe if it's never happened to you but it's absolutely real.

        Any other Precognitive folk here?
I'm not saying that I or anyone else has the ability to predict the future verbatim, but I do believe from my own experience that there is a deep sense of intuition we can learn to tap into to predict threats and detect danger, I believe our ancestors used this to predict changes in weather/migratory patterns.
I haven't met many other who have Deja Vu type dreams, but I've done a lot of work with them and it'd be interesting to compare my findings with some other folks who have delved into it as well.

          Horoscope Man

Horology: the study of time keeping.
          Horoscope: a perspective in time
Women are correct to yearn for an astrological theory despite their inability to articulate or exercise a functioning model. My experiences have been deja vu that make me pious to an unnamed God. Men are wrong to incriminate woman's desire for astrology wrong to brow beat their ideations of what is their deepest visceral awareness of time.
I can "predict" the future because my life is so deadpan nailed to a small limitation of options and it has been a generational curse of entrapment but this makes me a living breathing sundial of sorts. Even my digestion is uniquely impaired for this effect in ways I dont want to bore you with. The part of the world I live in is unique because day time and night time are opposite to India exactly 12 hours. I am trained as a financial analyst and am a general tech ISTeek as the bubble boy cripple in a family of engineers. The population of the world lives in a cosine that maps the major land masses perfectly such that the day begins with my neighborhood. My friends growing up were amateur astronomers. I live very close to one of the worlds best optics departments and astronomical observatories. My family descends from priests and gold mine dynasties. We had a heritage that was a tall pillar for world civilization until the 1800s. Few engineers in our family have an interest in our little intimate knowledge bank. Our birthdays are aligned in July 1, July 30, June 1, June 30. These are very interesting solar times.
My wife's birthday was a golden ratio apart from me. 1 day, 1 month, 1 year...
When we met we knew on the second date that God brought our romance together. We were the only couple to dodge every degenerate zoomer propaganda the media convinced everyone else we know into swipe app druggy degeneracy.
I believe in destiny. Robert Edward Grant has best articulated my views with some libtard queer coded moral relativist fan service I abhor.

Meditation is waved away by a lot of people as "new age bullshit", and it often is when you start sprinkling crystal dust on yourself to improve your wiener chakra.

But there's studies showing that frequent/daily meditation can have a very real, physical effect on your gains. People have experienced additional weight loss, or muscle gain (depending on their visualization) over a period of time in controlled studies. The whole thing still seems a bit "esoteric", but all evidence points to tangible, real benefits. I'm thinking people knew more about this pre-agriculture and slowly we have lost the ability to get in touch this this part of our mind with the advent of deferring tasks to technology and a better academic understanding of the material world.

You have to be so moronic to do that you were going to die doing something else you were too stupid to follow instruction on. The breathing exercise is just a way of hyper oxygenation styled after the way you naturally breathe in when plunged in frigid water. The breath holding is for on land only and it is made pretty clear. Dead morons will always only be dead morons.

In my understanding if you have reached zen levels of meditation then you could endure immolation because you have become free of all desires, including the desire to stop feeling pain in the next moment and through some logic that somehow makes extreme pain very bearable. A guy on a podcast gave an example where you could have identical pain in your back, but one was DOMS from working out, one was from the shoulder of a masseuse and the third was from some chronic illness, even if the level of pain was the same you would actually feel good about the first two (because you frame it as something positive) while only the last example gives you real suffering. The ones that remain completely still and calm during feats that should cause them unbearable pain have just stopped viewing pain as a negative experience that must be avoided so it suddenly becomes very bearable.

Increased proprioception, stability, development of intuitive to gauge terrain, better grip. It's also hard to explain to people who aren't used to going barefoot, but theres a whole new dimension of intuition that gets stored in the feet.
You'll build up toughness pretty quick, and you can handle temperature a lot better once you start, the only reason we stopped doing it was in the case of injury, but so long as you remain conscious of where you're stepping and wipe your feet off after a walk you can have all of the benefits and none of the side effects. Also check out some of the bros that lift barefoot for more benefits in that regard.

I did a glance over the files on the CIA website, had a few that might go into Lay on Hands Reiki healing like this

      ?si=WpFAlDYs2uvHLLTa

Most people who claim supernatural abilities are people who would otherwise be worthless nobodies. Same type as the majority of UFO encounter testimonies, prophets, etc.

Most 'supernatural abilities' are people who can endure hardship (i.e. cold, hunger, burns, etc), often via a meditative state. Not to say their abilities aren't impressive, and not to say that exercising conscious awareness and control over your mental state isn't a valuable skill.

Yes and no, those "Simplistic" abilities to regulate our temperature and consciousness have far reaching applications, you've only scratched the surface Anon.

me and my friends used to have spooky ghost encounters in the woods & abandoned buildings all the time

however, that was when i was 9. if you still believe yours, then i'm sorry your uncle touched you.

Just for clarification, the Reiki healing community does have a lot of sophists and hacks, but the basic premise which descends from esoteric monastic traditions is the ability to concentrate your body heat into a particular part of your body for the sake of healing (Yourself and others), most people aren't that great at it but theres a few Wimm Hoff anomalies that could expand its application.

Most 'supernatural abilities' are people who can endure hardship (i.e. cold, hunger, burns, etc), often via a meditative state. Not to say their abilities aren't impressive, and not to say that exercising conscious awareness and control over your mental state isn't a valuable skill.

You can measure your internal state and use that to decide what to eat instead of falling for fad diet plans. Calorie counting nonsense will miss the nuances of when and why your body needs certain things. No, your body is not hopelessly addicted to easy calories. You're just insensate and use easy calories to substitute for nutrition.

This guy has a number extremely rare genetic mutations that allow him to withstand this cold. That's how he can do these feats, not through sheer fricking willpower or whatever. You have been swindled.

This argument you're making has already been addressed. Even if he has a genetic proclivity for temperature that doesn't mean we can't learn to simulate a portion of this ability in our own body. The breathing techniques he uses are descended from monks who have used them throughout history, you should give it a Serious try before throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Whatever you're tuned into might be different from my own.
For the longest time when I was young I began to think things were predetermined, when at the ages of 5-7 I had deja vu almost every day, shit was a nightmare, but as I got older I took to some Jungian approaches mixed with my own experimentation to find that you can change paths to an extent, essentially if you can recognize what you're doing in the present thats set to generate a bad outcome you can acknowledge it and correct the behavior. Personally I think it's just a deeply unconcious form of intuition, which is why it's malleable and not entirely predetermined. That said, I and some other that I've met have had dreams of themselves on the otherside of the world/continent, which if those have any kind of precedence it's fricking amazing that the brain can look that far ahead.

I'm curious about doing some work to draw out this ability to the forefront of consciousness; I can operate off of intuitive feeling but I can't visualize it to the same extent. More training is required.

          Horoscope Man

I am a hardcore physicalist but I assert that the nature of our physical existence is ultimately mental. My topologist friend has a mathematical system that connects terms that are rounded off into a contiguous whole but are divided into perspective frames like knot analysis. All this nerd speak means is ancient Viking metaphysics is vindicated. It is a strange thing to say discrete entities do not exist in the widest possible context of an infinite continuua. He is the most useless mathematician I have ever met but the most sperg passion focused. He has never articulated anything practical to me. He calls himself the chef of math.
Without invoking the quantum, this explains many interconnected synchronicities that are normally discarded for daily convention. However many Japanese scholars have been on the same bent. My path is one of taking my most innate inklings into solid proofs.

Can you feel "energy" or warmth spinning or flowing through your body? How do you induce that along with the pleasure?

yes, you unite concentration and breathwork. good feeling and visualization of the central channel helps. pleasure comes from releasing tension. but basically you can learn how any hormone feels and learn to produce that, using the right chakra. like oxytocin comes from the heart. heat comes from the lower belly but can be transferred elsewhere. for all this to be easy you should do retreat level absorbtion/concentration practice

I've had success with releasing tension while walking, used to do it in school even. There's a point where you release whatever's holding you back to the point where you can walk or run as much as you want and you don't even feel the exhaustion, I used to run long enough that my legs would go numb.

Were there any specific cues, or visualizations that helped you accelerate the process or learn new steps? Or was it just pure concentration and you built it steadily over time?

simplest way for HGH is simply fasting. what I meant was that for this type of control to be easy you would need a period of intense practice after which you can really sense what you imagine. you need clear faculties for this and removal of blocking mentalities/emotions. its a lifestyle.

    >skims through this thread
Man, you losers will buy anything you're sold.

Your perception is the only thing you can affect through meditation. For instance, experienced yogis have demonstrated the ability to alter their brain wave patterns while meditating, you can get yourself high as goddam kite with controlled breathing, and yes, you can train yourself to shrug off pain. None of this has a very physical result.

Wim Hoff himself, when tested side by side with his twin, demonstrated no physiological difference - the only thing that happened was he reported a greater level of comfort in extreme cold. Subjective as frick.

That monk on fire, I'm not even going to bother watching it, could be high on whatever local brew they cook up in his monastery, but he could have devoted years, decades even, all day every day, every waking moment, to honing his ability to ignore discomfort. He's also probably a true believer in such an extreme as none of us will ever understand. Ever eat your vegetables while concentrating on the cake you'll get later? Same thing.

No, you can't learn to read minds. You can convince yourself that you've learned to read minds.

No, you can't learn to elevate your body temperature. You can learn to convince yourself that you're not cold.

Quit being so gullible. This is all snake oil preying on your inability to separate your feelings from reality.

I really don't blame you for not believing, these things need to happen repeatedly for one to believe. Mind reading is obviously confirmed with other people. As is precognition

Most of my life I didn't. I was a big sceptic actually. But mostly its about seeing fundamental conciousness as the base of reality instead of matter. Then many things make more sense.

Convincing you is no ones perogative. Only expressing oneself honestly. You meet at the terms you choose. There is no benefit to shitting this board up with obtuse hostility that isnt even funny. To me you sound as absurd as someone who calls loud hot computers a myth. In a congregation of athletes the feats are more believable than the sedentary norms are believable among office drones. I am very careful about influencing a positively honest discussion about abstruse and uncommon phenomena. Not everything has to be the yellow pages bottom of the barrel well beaten horse. There's snake oil salesmen in literally every facet of every industry/practice, but you're throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Meditation (and breathing techniques) isn't going to turn you into Goku, but it can have very real physical results (including increased neurogenesis).
