Yeah theyre great especially for beginners. Theres basically no way to frick up the movements and it lets you push harder because theres no threat of injury

I get nervous every time I see anyone use these machines. Too much can go wrong.

            >don't lock your knees
            >don't throw 5 plates on
            >don't do shitty quarter reps with hands on knees and think, "yeah that was a great set time to go up in weight."

Anyone hogging that many plates just to do quarter reps deserves this.

I never feel anything in my chest with that machine. Need the iso lateral one where the handles come together at the end for a huge squeeze.

Think you're referring to Pec Deck Flys (pic related).Incline chest press feels better since doing the barbell bench doesn't work for me since I only feel it in my triceps.

Cable pec flies are even better. Only way I feel pecs with free weights is with dumbells while holding the concentric motion. Frankly my bench is shit but you need to get to two plates to feel anything in the chest from a barbell bench.

No I'm not I'm talking about the iso lateral wide chest press.

Great for upper back. I like cables for triceps. Maybe some quad and hamstring work as well if you don't want to squat or deadlift.

No compound movement with free weights will get you the same feeling as a calf raise or hamstring curl. RDLs are alright but hard to overload with.

      calf raises yes
for knee flexion you can do nordic curls

Do you want to target a specific muscle or muscle group? Then yes. Do you want to train larger chains of muscles as a system? Then no, there are better ways to do that.
