sneed oil
skip the rice and you wont get sleepy
I literally just ate 8oz of chicken breast.
Only chicken breast.
No seriously, not even a side dish, JUST the chicken. and it made me sleepy as FRICK.
How the frick do I stop this from happening??? frick high protein foods
there is something wrong with conventional poultry. same reason turkey makes people sleepy.
I avoid poultry unless it was pasture raised.
I ate 3 pounds of chicken breast yesterday and stayed up all night maybe you are just a homosexual.
It's the tryptophan turning into serotonin. Glycine reduces this. You need to eat a side dish high in Glycine like gelatin.
I tested this myself during Thanksgiving by eating gummy bears and the next day eating leftovers without gummy bears.
Sure the glycine helps but gummy bears have like 7g gelatin and 70g carbs, it's the sugar. Sugar is the solution.
If sugar was the solution, eating pie would have kept me from feeling sleepy when I was eating leftovers.
Skin and tendons are higher in Glycine, so maybe eating a Turkey leg w/ skin on could work.
Pie has way more stuff in it than plain sugar, namely starches and fats. Starches can be hard to digest, especially for diabetic fricks like you.
>namely starches and fats
I wonder what else in a traditional TG meal would have those besides pie.
>especially for diabetic fricks like you.
I fast and refeed on a Peat meal. My insulin sensitivity is insane.
I drink OJ with most of my meals. I'll have to try a few without OJ and without gummy bears to test it.

>fast
>break fast with Peat meal
>resume fasting
How is this hard to understand? Are you just using Ray Peat to excuse your excessive sugar consumption?
>excessive sugar consumption
No such thing exists. We have a built in mechanism to tell us we had too much sugar (and salt).
What exists is excessive fat consumption which will make you fat and then you'll have to do stupid shit like fasting and wonder why you get sleepy when you've been cruising on stress hormones for days like a moron.
>you'll have to do stupid shit like fasting and wonder why you get sleepy when you've been cruising on stress hormones for days like a moron.
Is straw-manning all you can do?
Is being ignorant and low IQ all you can do?
Come on anon, bring up another unrelated Ray Peat video for that appeal to authority.
>go ahead and post more correct information, spoonfeed my lazy ass
No sir. You're on your own.
>No sir
>sir
go back to redit
Wtf are you talking about. Excess sugar makes you fat too lmaoooo
I've found that orange juice with a meaty meal can also mitigate the sleepiness
PUFA in regular poultry/pork induces lethargy and torpor.
I'm the same way anon, I'll eat lunch at work and be sleepy/yawning when I get back from break. Funnily enough it's only when I eat at work, if I'm eating breakfast or dinner at home I'm completely fine.
is there any solution? my peanut brain figured "hah I'll just drink coffee IMMEDIATELY after eating protein meals to counter the sleep with caffeine"
it did fricking nothing
I just drink more water and it usually goes away after about 15, granted I move around in my job so that helps. Also could be me not getting enough o2 to the brain.
I don't think I'm diabetic, atleast I've been on extremely little sugar the past few weeks and have been fine. I also don't display the classic signs of beetus. Probably worth getting my blood work done, I'll be turning 28 this year.
> I've been on extremely little sugar
Diabetes comes from fat, especially PUFA. Sugar cures diabetes. If you avoid sugar and eat a lot of fat you become diabetic, end of story.
That's honestly just because your subconscious knows that work sucks and you don't really want to be there
You're all diabetic.
>getting sleepy after eating food
Diabetic ketolard thread?
That's the reason I don't eat breakfast or lunch. I need to do shit at work. Also I call this gastro-dementia.
>just cruise on stress hormones then eat a pile of fat later and become neurotic and orthorexic like me, bro
I bet you're a pleasure to be around.
Nice projection but I have to admit I should formulate it better. I don't eat solid food during working hours.
Breakfast: protein shake and coffee
Lunch: protein shake
Training
Post workout: 6 eggs and a glass of milk
Dinner: mashed root vegetables and some grilled/roasted meat
Dessert: quark with frozen berries
>no one has actually answered OP on how to actually fix feeling sleepy after meals
IST can't solve anything lmao
Reduce protein and fat intake, increase sugar.
lmao why are health schizos like this
this thread is insane
