I'm from Polack land and I kid you not, everyone I know that's 40+ thinks that potatoes make you fat. Its a terrible stigma for based golded bois to carry.
What the frick is a golded boi
It's what your mother calls me whenever I piss on her
Asian men
Taters
it's a sequence of words used by redditors and braindead dopamine addicts.
Why do they think that poland fren?? Media??
Same, but people think that because they're adding a shit ton of butter and sour cream to the mash
Boomers are moronic
Same in Spain. Boomers don't understand that eating potatoes with a shit ton of oil and greasy food (fried eggs, chorizo...) is what make them fat.
Imagine thinking potatoes, eggs, and chorizo will make you fat and not lean af
i had my mind just blown. i never realizes potatos were low cal
How? I need 400-500 grams of potatoes as a side to be full, might as well eat some pasta or rice at that point
Another reason to eat potatoes!
unrelated by potatoes and rice are easy on my stomach
Pasta bread chips etc. make me feel terrible
i wouldnt say so. it can leave you feeling full but you will be hungry again really soon. gotta add some protein to actually feel full for longer periods
Based
300 g baked in the oven (without any fat) is the perfect side dish
This is legit. It's some kind of cultural thing that potatoes = high GI = bad. But the GI of your meal isn't dictated by each individual food. If you add butter and cheese to the potato it's overall lower GI. Add in red meat and you're doing even more.
I never dropped weight so easily while also staying satiated until I added in a serious amount of potatoes to the diet. When I tell people that I eat potatoes daily they look at me like I'm an alien, as they wait for their lean cuisine to heat up.
Also rich in potassium and iodine, many people are iodine deficient in the advent of the muh sea salt & Himalayan salt normie fads. Essential for optimal metabolic function
Stand aside.
>200 calories for a single cup (which is a frickton of rice)
>4 g protein (not bad for a carb)
>rice expands in your stomach so you get full faster
Potatoes keep you satisfied better
prep time for potatoes is higher and more labor intensive
Rice can be made in a pressure cooker after 5 minutes of cooking and 3 minutes of heatup/cooldown.
Results take effort
I take those small potatoes and just wash them and cut out any eyes which takes a couple minutes, then I may add butter or olive oil (which I hear is often cut with cheap oils so in the future I will stop using it) and I just put them in the toaster oven for 40 to 45 minutes at about 350F. If you can afford to do something else for those 40 minutes it's great and doesn't take much of your time to prepare.
I will try this. I only have a standard oven so I'll have to modify the timing a bit.
it should work similarly, remember you can always cook them a bit more if you need to.
this is just a regular baked potato.....
I guess, but I roast it with chicken pieces, butter, spices, and white wine. It's a very easy meal.
>prep potatoes by washing and removing sprouts
>if they're big cut them into pieces
>put on baking pan with chicken pieces
>cover with some butter then add salt, pepper, rosemary, etc. and some white wine (just because I have some) and roast for ~45 minutes.
>juicy chicken with crispy skin
>nicely done potatoes
>fat drips into pan, use a spoon to put it over the food when you eat it
just rinse, poke holes, microwave for 10-20min, it's easy af.
>a single cup (which is a frickton of rice)
not really
What are y'all favorite seasonings that aren't butter cheese or sour cream?
I use plain Greek yogurt because it taste like sour cream, with salt, pepper, and garlic powder
>cut four spuds in half
>put a little butter and oil on each half
>microwave for 2 minutes
>it's fricked
what did i do wrong?
>put a little butter and oil on each half
>butter
>and oil
>why
heats up better no? I forgot to add i sprinkle seasoned salt when i remove from the microwave
No
forget the oil if you're using butter. And define fricked. The microwave tends to make everything mushy and soggy. If you have the time to spare to bake them in the oven that's better.
>microwave for 2 minutes
>what did i do wrong?
maybe try to grow up, get rid of microwave and learn to cook
>only poke holes on edges
>overheat on microwave
>eat like crunchy french fry
mmmmmmmmm
Only downside is potatoes don't fill me up for dogshit, they keep me full, but I like to be stuffed (not gay) Will be tossing them into my new meal plan though
>but I like to be stuffed (not gay)
Are you sure you don't wanna get stuffed by me?
Are instant Mashed Potatoes just as good?
No.
Pic unrelated
Kek frick no. Mash is super easy to make though. Every couple of weeks I'll Buy a 2.5kg pack of red potatios, peel them, boil them until soft, drain water and then I have a metric frick ton of mash to work with.
Tend to eat it with various meats at dinner and then on final day cook a Cottage/Shepherds pie with it
name one reason to eat these over sweet potatos instead
>price
just put them in as regular potatos at the self checkout what you think the 9$/hr clerk watching you is a trained spud expert
>higher calorie
>taste worse
Thats basically it. I know sweet potatoes are actually better for you, but ive tried it in various forms (sweet potato fries, mash, sliced and oven baked) and it all tastes like shit compared to mash with a bit of butter and salt.
Didnt help that the sweet potato shit seems to basically melt into mush while eating it somehow no matter how I tried to prepare it.
I've just been cutting them into cubes, tossing in a bit of olive oil/salt/pepper/sage, then roasting. Taste pretty good to me.
I usually just switch stores until the prices drop back down again
Props if you like it. I went from a picky eater to basically someone who will try anything and sweet potato is genuinely just a food I dont like. Ive eaten it when friends cook it when im over but its just so inferior to so many other carbs taste wise.
I cant imagine doing Sweet potato mash cottage pie either
>I usually just switch stores until the prices drop back down again
This implies you are one of the sole reasons or significant reason prices are increasing. In which case, they are eventually going to catch you. Next time you check out, look above you. There is camera on each register, you probably didnt know this.
I worked in retail during college and for some odd reason the owner of the store wanted me to become one of the managers there despite me telling him this is just something id be doing while in school. He told me a lot of secrets about the business such as undercover shoppers.
Im giving you a warning now, I would do this kind of theft seasonally but on different seasons each year; do not attempt this kind of theft throughout the entire year.
The frick is an undercover shopper?
Someone paid to go shop at a store and report back to the brands head office if the store is up to standard or not.
Sounds like my dream job
>just put them in as regular potatos
you, along with the rest of the people that do this, are actually increasing the price of potatoes to offset the amount of money lost due to theft.
>put potatos on tray
>spatchwiener chicken on top
>low heat 2 hours
>bitta oil or butter if you can handle it
>3 meals worth with minimal effort
god is good eh lads
I love potatoes.
Potatoes are way easier to cook than rice, and potatoes also keep way better. That said, I usually don't eat either, because I am simply too lazy to cook at all most of the time.
Most potatoes are consumed as chips/crisps/fries, these are the things that are strongly associated with weight gain btw.
Yeah no shit. French fries and crisps add a shit ton of calories in the cooking process.
Its been a very long time since ive had a jacket potato. Need to cook one up soon
i once had a potato spill out the bag and i didn't realize until like a month later. When i went to clear it out it had a long stem thing growing out of it
>Most potatoes are consumed as chips/crisps/fries
You're supposed to just bake it. Of course frying it in oil will make it super unhealthy
>local fruit and veg shop is constantly selling 5kg bags of potatoes for $2.50 AUD (equiv. $1.66 USD) and sweet potatoes for 99c-$1.29/kg
