This is legit. It's some kind of cultural thing that potatoes = high GI = bad. But the GI of your meal isn't dictated by each individual food. If you add butter and cheese to the potato it's overall lower GI. Add in red meat and you're doing even more.
I never dropped weight so easily while also staying satiated until I added in a serious amount of potatoes to the diet. When I tell people that I eat potatoes daily they look at me like I'm an alien, as they wait for their lean cuisine to heat up.
Also rich in potassium and iodine, many people are iodine deficient in the advent of the muh sea salt & Himalayan salt normie fads. Essential for optimal metabolic function

I take those small potatoes and just wash them and cut out any eyes which takes a couple minutes, then I may add butter or olive oil (which I hear is often cut with cheap oils so in the future I will stop using it) and I just put them in the toaster oven for 40 to 45 minutes at about 350F. If you can afford to do something else for those 40 minutes it's great and doesn't take much of your time to prepare.

I guess, but I roast it with chicken pieces, butter, spices, and white wine. It's a very easy meal.
              >prep potatoes by washing and removing sprouts
              >if they're big cut them into pieces
              >put on baking pan with chicken pieces
              >cover with some butter then add salt, pepper, rosemary, etc. and some white wine (just because I have some) and roast for ~45 minutes.
              >juicy chicken with crispy skin
              >nicely done potatoes

forget the oil if you're using butter. And define fricked. The microwave tends to make everything mushy and soggy. If you have the time to spare to bake them in the oven that's better.

name one reason to eat these over sweet potatos instead

      >higher calorie
      >taste worse
Thats basically it. I know sweet potatoes are actually better for you, but ive tried it in various forms (sweet potato fries, mash, sliced and oven baked) and it all tastes like shit compared to mash with a bit of butter and salt.
Didnt help that the sweet potato shit seems to basically melt into mush while eating it somehow no matter how I tried to prepare it.

I've just been cutting them into cubes, tossing in a bit of olive oil/salt/pepper/sage, then roasting. Taste pretty good to me.

        >just put them in as regular potatos
you, along with the rest of the people that do this, are actually increasing the price of potatoes to offset the amount of money lost due to theft.

I usually just switch stores until the prices drop back down again

Props if you like it. I went from a picky eater to basically someone who will try anything and sweet potato is genuinely just a food I dont like. Ive eaten it when friends cook it when im over but its just so inferior to so many other carbs taste wise.
I cant imagine doing Sweet potato mash cottage pie either

          >I usually just switch stores until the prices drop back down again
This implies you are one of the sole reasons or significant reason prices are increasing. In which case, they are eventually going to catch you. Next time you check out, look above you. There is camera on each register, you probably didnt know this.
I worked in retail during college and for some odd reason the owner of the store wanted me to become one of the managers there despite me telling him this is just something id be doing while in school. He told me a lot of secrets about the business such as undercover shoppers.
Im giving you a warning now, I would do this kind of theft seasonally but on different seasons each year; do not attempt this kind of theft throughout the entire year.

Potatoes are way easier to cook than rice, and potatoes also keep way better. That said, I usually don't eat either, because I am simply too lazy to cook at all most of the time.

Most potatoes are consumed as chips/crisps/fries, these are the things that are strongly associated with weight gain btw.
