I feel this way about most fellow men around me at the gym. Like I see these guys doing dumb bell shoulder press with weight below even just 40 pounds and I don't get it. Like we're not talking guys with potential injuries or shoulder problems. DYEL young 20 somethings struggling to shoulder press 25 pounds, it's pathetic.

Most people just aren’t willing to try hard enough to make the gym worthwhile. They just want to come in, hit the prescribed 3x10 of whatever meme split they’re on and leave within 45 minutes

I have seen this a lot with the current generation of teenagers and young adults aka goyslop injected sissy zoomers. Fricking pathetic these uni students barely benching 95 lbs. These high pitched voiced sensitive wiener gargling queers are NGMI. What happened to our men?

I don't know, I lift with my brother and he's been a skinny bean pol at 6'2 155 for his entire adult life. I've helped him put on about 15 pounds of muscle this year but even when we were just starting out I think his baseline db shoulder press was 40 lbs and he went quickly up from there. I'm not even huge or proclaiming to be super strong but I do 65lb with that every time we go to the gym for 10 reps x 3 sets, or a decent amount OHP with the barbell. I see people doing these tiny weights. Sure everyone has to start somewhere, I'd never make fun of someone just starting out trying to get stronger but these are people I've seen every other day for months on end lifting the same light weights, I'm not sure what they're even paying to be there for, they could do pushups at home occasionally and achieve the same level of muscle.

My dumbbells only go to 50 and I’m banging out at minimum 13 reps for 5 sets of dbell shoulder press. You are telling me some people can’t handle 40??

It's always lonely men too, like really you have no one to go to the gym with? What happened to camaraderie.

Have you considered that they don't have friends who have any inclination to be fit? That's my problem.

Same, people put zero effort and complain about seeing no results. At least women have the excuse of generally being genetically weak as shit.

Idk maybe theyre working out towards goals and minding their own business instead of being insecure pussies who scan the room for percieved superiority in their minds eye. Word of advice mind your own business or you might get hurt.

They’re probably not doing any yard work. I always had to help my dad do stuff around the house and in the yard growing up and it definitely helps when you’re first starting out.

Women are built to have babies, while Men are built to work, so its only natural. That's why I find varbies are repulsive. The guys who like varbies are closet homosexual simps. Inb4...

I used to be able to deadlift 3pl8, but I stopped going to the gym for years and reverted to hungry skelly mode, now I struggled to squat 75 lbs... But I'm back on the eating and lifting, can't wait to be strong again

How’re you guys doing 40lbs db shoulder presses for reps? I’m doing 3x10 25lbs and on the last set my right shoulder hurts like a mf, but I’m still struggling on my left for the last 2 sets. I could definitely 1pl8 OHP at least once but I thought it was about hypertrophy or whatever.

They're not. I see these guys all the time, they just rush and pump out some literal 1/2 ROM db shoulder presses and look down at you for doing 3x10 25lb controlled full ROM. Absolute queers.

        Anonymous

can’t blame them though full rom sucks dick especially if you have long arms

Really? Is it the muscle or the joint? Because I have fricked up shoulder joints and I do 3x16 100 lb. 5 months into lifting. The muscles are strong but the joints are horrible. If my shoulders worked properly I would be doing sets of 8 with heavier weight, but 100 is the limit where the joint starts to hurt, so I just increase reps. I still have to twist my shoulder in a specific way when bringing the weight down otherwise it crunches the joint and I won't be able to lift overhead for weeks, this has happened a few times.

I think it might be the joint because it’s like a really bad cramping sensation that’s different than your usual muscle fatigue. I get it really bad behind my shoulders. I thought I didn’t have a rotator cuff injury because nothing hurts normally when I do the test but after I work my shoulders, it’s slightly painful to lift my right arm laterally. I guess I’ll just do slower negatives for my right side.
