Standard milk is 4.2% fat directly from the teat. Jersey milk is ~6%. "Whole" milk is 3-3.5% depending on the country. It's all semi-skimmed.

              Anonymous

Why do they do that? Wouldn't just leaving it completely "whole" be easier to produce?

They use the cream to make cream-based products like cream, sour cream, butter, and so on.

Food engineer here, it's done for standardization and ease of processing.
All milk is completely skimmed, then the cream is added back in at the standard concentration to make whole or semi-skim milk, which prevents different fat contents in the final product that can happen with different batches of milk.
Also, homogenization is done to the cream only, instead of having to homogenize the entire volume.

They use the cream to make cream-based products like cream, sour cream, butter, and so on.

Ah so since I can buy raw milk that visibly has cream, am I getting non-skimmed milk?

                Anonymous

Maybe. You don't technically need to heat the milk to skim the cream. Unless you're buying it at a farm, in which case it's completely unprocessed save for chilling it, your best bet is to look at the fat percentage and hold it up against the kind of cow it came from. Being able to see the cream just means it's not been homogenized. Raw just means it hasn't been pasteurized, though I imagine anyone selling raw milk wouldn't then turn around and skim the cream.

Calcification actually occurs when your diet is low in calcium and ample dietary calcium inhibits calcification of soft tissue and lowers calcium in the blood, it's called the calcium paradox. It doesn't inhibit magnesium, it acts synergistically along with vitamin d and k2 to put calcium in the bones instead of soft tissue.

So just eat an adequate amount of magnesium, which aids in calcium absorption (also D and K2). Of course just taking pure calcium fucks you up, eat whole foods retard

Low pasteurization doesn't really impact flavor. The 2 biggest things, in order, are homogenization and fat content. Homogenization annihilates the flavor. Reducing the fat content just makes it proportionately less flavorful. High pasteurization and UHT both make the milk taste like burnt ass.

Every culture throughout history has consumed dairy and fermented dairy products. Here's what is natural. Animals exist on the land, animals manage the land through their grazing which fosters a diverse ecosystem. Humans shepherd the animals and take what they need from them. This also has the bonus of meany poo poo CO2 getting trapped in the dense root systems of pasture land. What is bad for humans and the environment are gigantic soil destroying crop yields sprayed with agent orange and shipped around the globe.

      >act more like a SERM
Onions phytoestrogens are more similar to the SERM nolvadex (tamoxifen), then they are to the actual potent human estrogens (E1 and E2 found in animal fat).
Onions phytoestrogen is weaker than real estrogen at many receptor sites and competes with estrogen for binding to the estrogen receptor, displacing potent human estrogens, reducing the strength of estrogen in the human body.

        Anonymous

brainlet here. so the real reason s*y is bad is because the weaker phytoestrogens replace strong human estrogen in binding sites, and not because it increases the overall estrogens in your body?

          Anonymous

As a man you're not even remotely close to saturating your estrogen receptors. The concentration of genistein and diadzein in ꜱoy "milk" is unnaturally high. Same with ꜱoylent which used to advertise 52mg of isoflavones per 414ml bottle or 125mg/l. In contrast there's 5.7pg/ml estrone and 0.9pg/ml estradiol, estrone being about 1/10th as potent as estradiol, in whole milk which adds up to about 1.5ng/l estradiol equivalent. At those concentrations, genistein and diadzein would have to be 100 million times less potent than estradiol to be equivalent between ꜱoylent and whole cows milk. For reference, estriol is the weakest human estrogen and it's about 1/100th as potent as estradiol, the strongest. Genistein and diadzein are presumably a fair bit weaker than that but not even remotely a million times weaker.
In women the story is different. There anon is absolutely right in that it competes with estradiol for ER binding sites and causes a completely different kind of havoc. You can just google stories of women whose periods stopped from consuming excess amounts of ꜱoylent.
The beans themselves don't contain nearly enough isoflavones to be a problem. It's when you process them to hell and back you come up with these unnaturally high concentrations.

            Anonymous

            they're both bad, simple as
eat enough full fat dairy in a day and you can feel your beard get dry and stiff within hours. that is the follicle suppressant effects of the hormones you get through dairy, and you can tangibly feel it within HOURS

Almond milk is better in EVERY metric

          Let's see what it says:
          >fewer calories
          >less fat
So that just makes it objectively worse. Let's keep reading:
          >fat in almond milk is healthier than the fat in cow’s milk because it’s unsaturated
That's some deep boomer lore. To add insult to injury it's 15% polyunsaturated.
          >higher nutrient profile
          >more potassium, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, magnesium and calcium
Now they're just lying. Cow's milk has 5 times more potassium, infinitely more vitamin A/D as almond milk contains none (nor does it contain beta-carotene which is falsely labeled as vitamin A), double the magnesium, and 13 times the calcium. At least they weren't lying about the vitamin E I guess.

If your almond milk contains ANY estradiol or estriol you need to fucking run as far away from it as humanly possible.
Either way, the 0.9ng of estradiol in a liter of milk isn't going to jack even if all of it was absorbed into the 50-200ng estradiol soup that is your blood.

Milk is NOT IST - it's full of estrogen. Most other dairy is suspect as well.

raw milk actually promotes testosterone and the estrogen is metabolized. biology 101.
