>No pecs
>No abs
you don't need equipment for both
I get the no pecs argument but no abs? I don’t think I’ve found anything that works your core more
Ever tried standing ab wheel rollouts?
You'll end up looking like 50 yo Tom Cruise. That's the problem with those functional training tools, pecs and abs are rarely used in normal movements.
so put the kettlebells on the ground and do deficit pushups. shit isnt complicated
However OP implied he only does clubs and kettlebells.
>abs not used in kettlebells
The frick are you on about?
>No pecs
>No abs
Black person what do you think a pullover/shield cast works?
Good morning sir!
Are these really common in India or something? I am unfamiliar with this meme.
yes, heavy club training is a thing in India and Iran. They're called Joris (for the clubs) and Gadas (for the maces) in India. Meels (for the clubs) and Gorz (for the maces) in iran.
In the west they are just called heavy clubs, steel clubs, clubbells or steel maces/macebells.
Yeah nobody in India is using steel. Mostly concrete gada or very large wooden jori. The steel versions are used very differently.
a very good club and kb yt channel is a guy named Mark Wildman, and what he does clearly shows the difference. a clubbell shield cast is done with the thumb of the casting hand passing the opposite ear - this is possible due to the shorter length of the clubs. You HAVE to do a near side cast (hand passes same side ear) with a jori or meel if you're dual wielding.
there are some differences between meel and jori casts too due to their length. an ausgay named Paul Wolkowinski is probably the expert on traditional wooden club shit and can autistically explain it in far greater detail than I can
my right shoulder clicks whenever i do a shield cast. doesn't hurt but feels weird and it always happens when i go over the head rather than over the shoulder. any tips?
I have the same problem and this is what worked for me. The problem was that I have a mild impingement/bone spur and it was being triggered by too much inward rotation. So instead of doing the pullover part of the shield cast where my nipples faced forward and my clicking-arm's elbow was pointing somewhat toward my opposite nipple, i'd do more full rotation and my elbow would be -- relative to my torso, facing forward. Be sure to lead such rotation from the hips, it is the same move as flipping someone over your shoulder, a kettlebell halo, or a hula hoop motion.
ballistics, just in a different plane
this 90% worked, the sound went way quieter (though it's still there) and I can't feel any clicking
yeah, it's not perfect but it helps. the other thing is to not death grip the handle. I don't know enough about muscle irradiation to explain why, but death gripping tightens your forearm muscles which engage your biceps and that I think engages the long head which is probably what's clicking. if you basically loosen everything it helps. good luck my man
Wildman is great, really gets to the core of what fitness actually is. And his videos are clear and concise, no bullshit. Do you know anyone else like him?
Kay's Kettlebell Dojo is one. I like Lebe Stark but he's talky. ditto Coach Vaughn.
>Lebe Stark
he overcomplicates everything probably for some youtubebuxx reason. like its really not that difficult explaining how to swing the fricking thing
agreed. i like Joe Daniels too, he lacks stage presence but is straightforward.
Joe is the goat Youtube kettlebeller imo. He does more than just kettlebells, but I also like Dan John.
I like Dan John, but better in written form. watching him do a podcast gets a little boring.
as someone who uses these meels regularly, it's no joke. There are little ways to optimize it, put your pinkie on or under the pommel for example. but it smokes your forearms just holding it in order position
>looks at prices of maces
>looks at prices of sledgehammers
Any reason why not just a hammer?
Dan John answers any question with ten minutes of nonsense about that time he was training for high school javelin in 1974 and then giving an actual answer at the end. Knowledgeable guy in need of an editor.
>Any reason why not just a hammer?
The lever length is different, causing different form and results. Getting a Mace (10lb - 20lb) a the better choice, and you could learn mace flow. Be advised, better to learn club before mace, not the other way around.
If you have a hammer already then that can be a good starting point, despite what many will tell you. If you’re going to be forking out cash either way, it’s definitely worth paying a little extra for the mace.
Wildman is the best coach online, by far.
good morning sers! Gym today?
Goodmornings really are better and more versatile than swings for developing the posterior chain
Yes, you stink. Yes, it's your diet. Take a shower. Use deodorant. Consider not having a shit diet just because "muh culture."
Good morning sir
How long did it take you guys to work up to depth on the long one? I'm plateauing at about 8 inches, could use some advice.

Underrated post
I disagree but they are fun. I think the best way to deload is to just spend a week dicking around with kettlebells and Olympic rings in your front yard. Cba to go to the gym just to lift baby weight
>metal club
I'm not a stinky indian, the rest is okay.
stinky brownoids use wood mostly
>Sticking a club in with kettlebells
Are you moronic?
>another "the one moronic thing I train with is better than everything else" israeli threads
OP should kill himself.
what's this? you play weighted baseball with this?
I immediately think of the Iron Sheik when I see these
Is this technique or just some muscle group that barely get's strengthened while conventionally lifting?
There’s a little technique involved but it’s mostly just strength that doesn’t get trained normally
Bit of both. some of it is technique since it's firing a rotational kinetic chain versus posterior or anterior chain. it definitely hits the serratus, mid traps and rotator cuff muscles (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, uh... Paul and Ringo) but you can also train those with things like ytwl drills and face pulls and dumbbell pullovers
Phenomenal for athletic development. Not so great for hypertrophy.
Combine it with weighted calisthenics and call it a day.
There's a thought. What would a split with both look like.
People who have lagging parts and don't want to spend 10 years waiting for the club to build it?
>People who have lagging parts and don't want to spend 10 years waiting for the club to build it?
you're missing the point of fitness. it isn't an rpg.
I do a heavy kettlebell complex then jump rope on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I do weighted calisthenics (e.g., pull-ups, push-ups, and dips) and combine it with long-ish light kettlebell sessions.
>don't want to spend 10 years
you're supposed to be lifting until the last moments of your life dumbass
stop this roidtroony logic of thinking you're supposed to get shredded in a year then just drop it all
>I couldn't manage to give an actual answer because I have so little knowledge that I'll just call names instead.
Oof. Girl moment.
>waaah waaaah he called me bad name now my feeling is so hurty
get a grip you limp wristed homosexual, this is not your safespace
the argument is right there, you're the one unable to refute it because obviously you don't lift
>useless hypertrophy
who cares
with enough TUT you can get moderate gains, look at the pro Kettlebell sport people. But they're doing sets of ten straight minutes of clean and jerk. the Persian and Indian guys do similar loooong sets with clubs. so it is possible but barbells are much better if your time is limited. if hypertrophy isn't your goal, then you get better overall GPP with the ballistic stuff
Are steel clubs worth the extra purchase Kettlebros? I already have 4 kettlebells I bought during the pandemic
Yes. KBs are not the best for lateral movement and spinal rotation; that's where clubs shine.
worth it, but consider an adjustable club. adex makes one.
I only got mine the other day but I can tell it will be 100% worth it. I got an 8kg one and just doing inside circles and outside circles is a great workout.
I bought one, just fricked around with it and did up-downwards swings. It's fun, burned nicely. Easy to adjust difficulty via your grip.
Just a bit ashamed to do it outside, then again why should I care what are think about me?
You're exercising and they aren't. Frick normies
13pounds or 6kg.
I weigh 74kg, and haven't worked out in years, but remember, the weight is concentrated in the tip of a very long handle.
Put all the weight one the end of a dumbbell and see how it feels.
You can never go wrong with a lighter weight on these it seems.
How many lbs is it? Luckily I have an enclosed yard so my neighbors can’t see me looking foolish
Kb are cool but frick having half a garage of little bells for each movement and progression.
You only really need 3 for a long time. 16, 24, and 32kg
Yes.

hard to get heavy dumbells
love weighted mallets
do gada swings train the lower back or do i need to work that seperately?
Gada or mace mostly does for the upper body what kettlebells do for the lower body. It’ll hit your shoulders and core most. You’d be better off training your back with kettlebell swings.
so
is mostly right but if you put a lot of body English into it you get some back workout. see this guy
Need mace
how do I get the weighted mallets?
been into the functional lifting meme
been training my primal movements
Post favourite kettlebell excersise
For me its overhead press
windmill
farmers walk
Clean and press lunges
Any tips on pressing the 32kg bell? I can do 10x5 with the 24kg but it’s still a big jump to the 32 and I don’t have any weight in between.
When you can do 20x10 with 24kg.
push-press the 32kg (with absolutely perfect form, don't get snapped up) for singles to triples and z-press the 24kg for 10s
meant for
kettlebell man maker complex
favorite complex, armor building
favorite single activity :just the plain old hand to hand swing
High Transition Walking Cleans (Contralateral Load)
Swings
Swings is the only exercise that really matters, the cream of the crop for kettlebells
Everything else are just fun niches you do when you're bored with barbell/dumbbell, but swings is the only exercise that barbell/dumbbell can't compete with
>but swings is the only exercise that barbell/dumbbell can't compete with
for the impingement crowd, kb c&p is incomparable
You can do swings with DBs. In fact, that's how they were originally done.
I've got a progressively overloadable swinging tool
car seat carriers are the patrician choice for curls
Best post
I've done them with DBs, but it's a little more uncomfortable. I love that I can just turn my brain off with KBs
Same here. KB OHP hits different
Dan John says if you're strong at the top of a movement, and strong at the bottom, the middle takes care of itself. So do getups and waiters walks (push press the weight up) with the 32 to get used to it overhead, and walk around with the weight in the rack to build strength there.
That said, at 50 reps of 24kg you should have at least 1 32kg press in you. And when you get one, there's a program on SF called soju & tuba that can take you to 3-4 reps pretty quickly
TGU
seconding and agreed
I love using my macebell after the gym. Nothing better than doing 360's outside. Also, my delts and lats grew super big doing these.
I love macebells too. What brand are these? They're fugging beautiful
tried to snatch my 48
back hurts now :DDDDDDDDDDD
why do most kettlebell brands stop at 50lbs? is it because shipping a 55+lbs kettlebell is a pain in the ass or something
probably a demand thing
>fat babies
>brass bands
>boers
love these crowds
All rendered obsolete by the invention of the barbell.
How long will a 32kg bell last me before I feel like I need something heavier? The heavier bells are significantly more expensive and the shipping cost gets absurd.
Would I be fine just upping the volume with the 32 and mixing in clubs and mace work instead? The 32 feels stupidly heavy atm.
i think this is why most people end up doing double kettlebell stuff because the shipping for the heavier bells is too much
Preach, King.
I have a sledgehammer, can I use that for club training?
