I can eat tinned sardines just fine, but tuna I find a lot more difficult and unpleasant to eat if I'm not draining it and mixing with mayonnaise

Sardinechadaler here. WTF is the abomination in your pic? Are those skinless (and boneless) sardines?

You need to get yourself some nice Matiz.

I sometimes get the skinless ones because of their texture, but that's it

Sardines are lower in the food web. They dont suffer the effects of biomagnification of pollutants as much as a higher level consumer like tuna does

It's cool if you don't like fish, just don't hang in fish threads so you can avoid seeing posts about fish.
Educate yourself about how mercury accumulates in fish before you post your momscience infographics.

You could eat tuna daily and be okay, it's about selenium/mercury balance and you can read Chris Kesser's article on it.

It was gross the first time I tried them too. It's an acquired taste, try them again and you'll like them a little more and eventually you'll love them. They're good for you

Brand and what they're canned in matter
Deenz in water are not very good as it, usually those are for cooking or mixing into other things, hot sauce/mustard/tomato/etc is hit or miss because the brand might use inadequate sauces to can the deenz, olive oil is king other oil deenz are shit and are to be avoided at all cost.
Some cheaper brands like to use machine processing that does a shitty job filleting the deenz. If you find a brand that had gritty or brown deenz those are super cheap and don't taste good since they probably farmed them and fed them god knows what.
Brunswick and King Oscar are my go to.
Bar Harbor smoked sardines are also a favorite of mine but smoked flavor might not be for everyone.

Yeah sardines taste like fishy salt.
      They are no good.

Do sardines contain the same amino acids and other kind of good stuff that other meats like beef have?

yes both fish and meat have complete amino acid profiles.

Best bang for my buck: calcium, iron, selenium bomb! My go to breakie: 2 toasted slices of whole meal, a can of deenz, tomatonion and some fermented lemon.
Do wash the deenz beforehand to avoid as much oil and salt as possible.
    God bless the little buggerz.

I saw something that the fish are boiled in the cans and that the cans have a plastic lining like soda cans. Is that true?
If it is I gotta cut that shit but fresh fish is expensive and fattier

I'm just wrapping up after the busy cod fishing season, have positively gorged myself on it these last few months. Now I need to pack a goodly amount of saithe to carry me through summer, and I already got monkfish tails and halibut and turbot packed and frozen, and next week I'm going to take enough haddock to make something like 5000 fish cakes together with a friend.
Then comes whatever mackerel and small saithe I can catch during summer.

/deenz/ over on IST would welcome you with open arms.
How to hook em up, recipes you can make out of them, what compliment a nice can of deenz, which brands are premium and which are trash.

BTW, these literally have the highest concentration of microplastics in any food ever. Google it.

You're making yourself gayer with each can. Just eat the tuna.

      >Go to gym, workout and then hit the sauna
      >Leave with plenty of time to spare cause I need to bring my sister to the airport.

      >Massive traffic jam on the way home, get to house with like 20 minutes to eat lunch, shower, dress and get to my sisters

      >Grab a tin of king Oscar's mackerel

      >Pull the ring and it comes off without opening the can

      >Getting anxious cause no time

      >Tard rage overcomes me and I slam the handle off a butter knife into the can along the line where it should break hoping it will just open

      >Can bursts and sends stinky mackerel juice all over me and the entire kitchen
