This - I lived at home and had a job to commute to after college until I was 26. Moved into an apartment within my means to still save money, but because of the savings I built up from living with zero rent I was able to buy a house during 2020 with a full 20% down payment to avoid PMI.

I don’t tell people I live with my parents. I avoid all social environments so that I don’t have to reveal any aspects of my humiliating, worthless, pathetic life. Like how I’m in my 30s still living with my parents, or not having a career, or not having a car, or not having friends.

Who seethes? If I meet adults who live with their parents and aren’t in school, so let’s say over 25, I just act politely and think “kek what a loser, guy is probably a virgin too.”

I moved out of my parents’ home at 18 and never looked back. But this was 2005 and cost of living is admittedly worse especially in cities. So now I’m more along this (

Living with your parents can be a smart thing today, IF you have a career and saving up for your own house.

) thinking because it’s unrealistic to expect people to move out and make it directly after college in many places. But a lot of zoomies don’t seem to have any plan or capacity for strategizing so it’s likely just a matter of zero ambition, the path of least resistance and enjoying being infantilized into adulthood.

why are you westerners so antisocial and sociopathic? here in eastern europe people live with their parents till their late 20s even 30 and no one cares

Since the advent of the nuclear family and the unprecedented time of opportunity and wealth of the boomers, cycling through jobs and houses while accruing disposable income was the way things went. So staying at home with your parents suggested that there was something wrong with you and you couldn’t start a family and life on your own. And to be fair I think it was true during times of plenty.

We’re starting to go towards the European model in some cities and urban areas because it is just too damn expensive to do it without assistance and before anyone says “why live there then” well the simple fact is that’s where the jobs are.

          >I moved out of my parents’ home at 18
Lol middle class and below detected.

Brainwashed Anglo mindset, in most of the world you live under your parents roof and inherit their house. Your parents must really hate you if they’re not leaving you or anyone else in your country jack shit.

          >Who seethes?
People like you. Move out at 25? First year after $300,000 4 year university graduation? Lmfao.

My parents helped me during my first year of college but after that I paid for tuition and rent by tree planting and working a bit during the school year. Scholarships paid for my MSc and PhD so that the only time I experienced debt was when I bought my house. I acknowledge that me being off on my own was easier because I had a large safety net and still do. My parents are upper middle class and, shared with my two siblings, I stand to inherit multiple properties, investments and cash that guarantee my kids will be able to own homes. Having a safety net allowed me to make gambles that I might otherwise have not made and they have paid off. A sense of independence, ambition and pride means that I’ve never asked my parents for anything since I was 19 but again the fact is that I could which gives a certain freedom because I’m buffered from hard financial failures (ie I’ll never go hungry and homeless). Still I just can’t understand how people can be miserable but never raise a finger to do anything for themselves. Not having any ambition and inactivity is just foreign to me. Maybe that’s the real benefit of having good parents and upbringing.

I'm just sharing the living space with someone, whether that's my parents or someone else in a flat share doesn't really make a difference. I'm an adult and my parents treat me as such, so it's not like the circumstance affects me as a person in some way. It would be a different story if they were still pampering me but I pay my share of the rent and we live separate lives for the most part, unless we do want to spend time together. I'm not going around telling other people. Of course, they think it is a lack of independence or a weird relationship you have with your parents that lead to the living situation but it often isn't like that. I have also lived alone for many years before, I moved back in with my parents when I came back to my home town. I will probably get my own place again soon but the current arrangement isn't bad.

Cultural programming. All our media tells us that living with our parents past 18 is pathetic and lame. It's way cooler to waste money on an apartment.

Almost all of Europe colleges (universities) do not have on-campus dorms. So when you brokies go to college, you live with your parents - which is so fricking lame. You have no idea what you're missing out on. American college is a 4 year non-stop party outside of finals week. Frat/sorority parties. Sneeking out of your dorm and into the girls dorm to frick whatever girl you're talking to that semester. Meeting tons of new people and just being with your friends 24/7 making the most out of your young years. Meanwhile europoors go to class then go sleep with mommy lmao.

Also the reason you sleep with mommy until you're almost 30 is because your jobs all pay shit and it's nearly impossible for you to own a house.

How? Its well known girls livers and bodies are a lot weaker. So 4 years away from parents cooking, take out, junk food, drugs, alcohol and less physical activity fricks them. Even a lot of men looked fricked after 1-2 years of uni.

I swear most people finished uni bigger losers than when they finished hs. Probably cause uni is more political and more propaganda. I met a bunch of uni kids that graduated and they gave off major npc vibes and this was like 2015

        Anonymous

The uni experience is a lot worse than hs. Post secondary is shit cause you have to pay for it. No one wants to be there and only dorks and losers wanna party as if they didnt party in hs.

        Anonymous

Theres something very sterile and off about being in post secondary education. I think because by age 22, many girls are starting to wall and their walling status affects the school atmosphere

        Anonymous

Even the fun and partying felt forced and inorganic. Like "look a college party" as if we werent doing it in hs. And whats worse since people arent in hs,their dorky and nerd and gay side came out, probably trying too hard to fit in. There were lots of normal people in hs,but in uni, they started acting so wierd, followers and cringe. Like uni, away from parents and no more hs,brought out this cringe npc follower side in a lot of normal kids. I think the pressure to "meet people" "mame friends" and "party" made normal people turn into a bit cringe. Saw a bunch of wierd shit on facebook after 1 year.

        Anonymous

I think the pressure to fit in, make friends and hopefully start new after hs made many kids more desperate to fit in. Whats worse is first year uni for me was when that kony 2012 and ice challenge came out, so social media explosion plus college and the beginning of npc culture was very gross to experience.

Uni sounds gross. A bunch of average kids making each other more cringe. I remember seeing normal average kids and then once in uni they became so cringe trying so hard to fit in. Like it was wierd and i think social media made it worse.

        >Meeting tons of new people and just being with your friends 24/7
I think starting in 2012, this wasnt good cause social media was taking over and most people started getting influenced by it. And hanging out and meeting new people 24/7 started reinforcing beta behaviour. I cant imagine how npc being in uni today is. But i saw some college football social media posts and it was gross how hard every one was trying to fit in. Zoomers are so fricked like ong fr. Gen a is probably so much worse. Hopefully gen a become something like the boomer generation that grow up during a war. Cause gen a is gonna be so pathetic its not even funny.

I just pay my parents a lot of rent to keep money within in the family for them to pay their mortgage on the few rental properties they have. Of course it's getting extremely difficult for most of us to afford the initial investment. Only way to change that is by changing the laws in your state.

What’s the point of living on my own when I’m a complete loser? I lived on my own (with some roommates) in college. Even the most social time of your life, I still did nothing to take advantage of living on my own.

If I lived on my own, I would just come back to an empty place all the time. I have no interest or desire to own a house, I can’t even imagine the work it takes to maintain and be a homeowner when I can’t even manage my own life despite being 31. So what, I’m paying rent to some landlord? I’m not going to get independence or grow as a person since it’s already over for me. I’ll just pay rent to my parents to supplement their income and retirement and then kill myself when they die. I don’t give a shit.

I don't mention it. I work 2 jobs and still can't afford rent in my city. I looked for better paying jobs but my field doesn't pay very well. I'm having to change careers again and move states to afford to live on my own. It's kind of wild honestly. I feel like it's greed because the same job in less expensive cities pay the same or more, but in my city it's like the companies are conspiring to keep pay low. There's no reason why they should be able to pay $15-20 /hr while demanding a degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in a city where a studio goes for $1k and 1 bedrooms go for $1400.

Anyway I'm moving states to another city where the same job pays $22 to 25 minimum and a 1 bedroom apartment goes for $1k

      Anonymous

Oh another reason I think it's local businesses being greedy is because the state pays far more for lesser roles. Similar levels of education and experience net almost double what the private sector is paying which makes no sense. In other words, busting my ass gets me less than $40k per year in the private sector with almost no benefits, while working a chill low level work life balance job with even the county level jobs nets me $52k minimum plus benefits. If I really tried to match my role it would be somewhere in the ball park of $65k. There are no private sector jobs in my realm in my city which pay that much.

      Make it make sense.

It's a boomer thing and gen x thing. If millenials were able to walk into a 6 figure job fresh out of a high school with a firm handshake none of them would be living with their parents. Instead what happens is millenials walk out of high school into 6 figures of debt at college until they're 22-23, then struggle for months to find a near poverty level job for the eXpErIeNcE which you also need in addition to the 6 figures of debt and degree, which isn't enough to afford an apartment by yourself so you need to also work an additional part time job or gig job like driving for uber to make ends meet. But you can't just do that because you will never get a raise at work and you have to constantly look for jobs while you work so you can try to make more money at another company and advance your career because it will never happen at the job you currently work at. Then to advance further you need to get an advanced degree which means more debt. So when you're 35 you can finally hit that 6 figures which is just enough to start saving for a $500k house so that you can consider starting a family.

In my country it's culturally acceptable to live with your parents even if you're over thirty, in fact the median age people leave home is 33. If you have good parents there's nothing wrong staying in their house and saving more money instead of being israeliteed by some kick with rent.

Almost 31 here, had to go back after a breakup, in my country temporary work isn't enough to find a place or buy one.
And thanks to the shit economy I can't find a job without being in competition with like 200 people so I probably be there for a while, I'm fricking tired of this shit.
I know a lot of guys that live with their parents but almost no girls, they all find jobs and stuff because they are attractive.

      >they all find jobs and stuff because they are attractive.
They are struggling. Remember, girls have to work twice as hard to keep up. Their bodies are mentally physically and spiritually weak. Thats why no matter what, girls do feel disadvantaged. Girls also hit the wall at 25 and their bodies break down starting age 23.

Thats fine for men. But not for girls. A single 30 year old man is fine. A single 30 year old girl is into the trash. Look up "what is christmas cake in japan" on google. Uni ruins girls cause by the time they graduate, they look like shit.

If you meet girls you knew in hs after they graduate from uni, the first thing they notice is how much better u look and you always see sadness in the girl. I dont know why but i noticed this in every girl i saw. They always gave me this sad look and we were only age 25. I guess since they knew me,they didnt try as hard to cover up and put on that "hiii!" Personality. That look is quick and every girl gave it to me.

The girls, since they knew me, they knew i know what they looked like in hs and girls do notice how drastically they aged between 19-25. So i guess when they see me, they are reminded of how much their looks faded by age 25.

Ignoring my looks, my post was about how every girl gave me this same sad look. I think its cause girls kinda know by age 25 its over for a girl. But in the west we pretend its not. In japan they are called "christmas cakes" and china "unwanted females." Its just a look all girls gave me so i know for sure all girls post 25 make sure to hide that part of themselves.

I think for girls, constantly putting on a persona is draining. Especially slighlty above average girls. Paris hilton said something about this. Eitherway after uni, most girls look teribble.

You can blame that "upper class" dude called men living at home at 25 a virginz. ---->

So now I’m more along this ([...]) thinking because it’s unrealistic to expect people to move out and make it directly after college in many places. But a lot of zoomies don’t seem to have any plan or capacity for strategizing so it’s likely just a matter of zero ambition, the path of least resistance and enjoying being infantilized into adulthood.

      [...]

Hes probably the biggest betamale provider too. He was the first one to talk about girls.

I mostly don't even bother talking to people enough for them to give me any kind of reaction, and somewhere along the lines I just stopped caring for the few who do.
I've been couch surfing for the past year and a half, I've had roomates before, did some solo traveling, and I guess I'm just to the point where I can't find anything to care about.
Every employer I've had has been shit, they spy on their employees, let shitty coworkers get away with shitty things, take advantage of my work to the fullest. People are insufferable, they're boring, they don't think about anything, or when they do think they think in only the most basic black and white things it's pointless for me to engage because I never learn anything or grow, I just end up wasting my time talking about really basic shit or bullshitting over petty trifles.
No work worth doing, no people worth working for, no war worth fighting, no country worth serving. So I recently bought a bunch of vegetable seeds and managed to fit everything but my books into a backpack, and thanks to guys like ForestAnon I have an idea of what to do with my life. I set out in a few days to find some remote piece of land to cultivate, and I guess I'll just end up surrounding it with boobytraps in case the Feds decide to want to come and ruin what little there is worth doing in this life.

Temporarily it's a blow to the ego but then I remember that they're probably just prostitutes who are gonna go on and make terrible decisions with other men. Fine by me. A good one wouldn't give a single shit, and I've been with women who didn't care much.

To everyone else, I just lie about it. No harm no foul. There's definitely a weird culture around this. I pay the bills, my blue collar pops can hard-core save and retire, it created wealth for him to loan my brother to go to college instead of israelitedent loan debt. All wins in my eyes.
