Mushrooms are neither good nor bad for you.
I eat them because I like their texture and taste but it's like eating wood chips, they go in, they come out exactly as they were.

They're pretty much just water. To get any real nutrition out of them you'd need to eat several pounds of them

Most food is just water, have you ever seen jerky? That's your meat without the water content.

Mushrooms and spinach lose almost all their water in a reasonable amount of cooking. Most vegetables and meats retain their moisture through normal cooking and only lose a bit.
100g of raw chicken has like 35g of macros
100g of mushroom has 8g of macros.

I'm lazy as shit so today I washed button mushrooms and just dipped them in the oil from a jar of artichoke hearts in olive oil with italian seasoning, threw those in the toaster over for a couple minutes with some sausage and they came out good.

Doesn't matter. It's immune to overcooking and basically just changes wetness based on method so just add whatever things you want to flavour it with and then heat it any way you want.

get pan hot. not 10/10 hot but like a good 7.5/10 hot
      put in mushrooms
immediately put in just enough water that it doesn't immediately evaporate. Mushrooms are mostly water. The boiling water surrounding the mushrooms will quickly get the mushrooms to temperature all at the same time and the water inside them will also boil and release. This will keep water in the pan.
Add a bitta salt. This will also draw out the water.
Once the mushrooms have shrunk some and the water seems to be out of them (u may need to add more water if ur pan dries out), add some oil or butter. I do half butter half olive oil. Reduce heat to a 4/10. Cook until lightly browned. If you want you can add some garlic and pepper when they're almost done.
Sounds like a lot but it ends up being the fastest and easiest method of cooking mushrooms because the water speeds things up and keeps you from fricking it up by burning them.

based. mushrooms are my favorite filler for soups and sauces. It helps I'm not an autist that doesn't like how they taste. low calorie, versatile, good texture, good flavor pairing and cooked correctly are a great side dish by themselves. i cook chicken soup with mushrooms, random veggies and it always comes out delicious.
