My chest sucks, but it sucks less now than it did months ago. Biggest change was switching primarily to dumbell benching.

Barbell flat bench is a complete meme, dumbbells are the way forward

soon you will also realise doing squats with a barbell are not optimal
then you will learn that deadlifts are fricking useless and are just an entire ego lift
after that you realise your shoulders grow bigger after you swap the barbell for dumbbells

and then finally, you realise the barbell is a meme

      You're just bad at it.

        >You're just bad at it.
Lifting with hexbells is harder dipshit. Dare you to take your max barbell bench and try it with free weights. Watch your fricking arms shake like a chihuahua in a cold breeze.

          >Dare you to take your max barbell bench and try it with free weights
Wasn't this precisely the reason why barbell bench was considered superior? Because it allows you to lift far heavier weights?

I remember reading it years ago. Has the broscience changed?

(I do 6x8 barbell bench and 4x10 dumbbell bench on my chest days, both incline. Just to be safe, I do both.)

Load really doesn't mean that much when it doesn't target the miscke your trying to train.

But I thought pressing a weight off your chest with your shoulder blades retracted INEVITABLY recruited your pecs.

If not, what muscles are moving the barbell? Can't be the delts, they're not strong enough.

                Anonymous

It's not one or the other, though I understand what you're trying to get at.
You know it's the pecs, delts and triceps.
Some people have a hard time targeting the muscles they want because their mind muscle connections are not strong enough yet. Dumbbell presses cab help achieve that. Cheers

You've convinced me. I'm gonna switch to only DB presses for a few weeks and see if I notice a difference.

what the hell just happened there

He ego lifted, he let the dumbbells get too far away from his body, and then instead of dropping them when he lost control, he tried to wrestle them into position. 3 mistakes.

No, using the weights is free. You pay to be able to breathe in masculine ballsweat air.

Digits of truth. Barbell training is massivly overrated for the general populace.

      Anonymous

exactly. barbell training is only for powershitters and weightlifters, for the general population hitting the gym and those who lift for aesthetics/to look better should just use dumbells and machines instead

        Anonymous

I agree with everything except machines. They're worse than barbells and should only be used by the weakest beginners. Build up a good base with machines then just switch to free weights. The only good machine lift is the lat pull.

Sounds like you’re a homosexual, machines allow you to really push for that last rep without hurting yourself. They’re superior in safety so you can truly go to failure, can’t do it with free weights. Yeah, you could get a “spotter” but I’m not gonna count on somebody else for my safety.

Dubs of truth and it's not just for aesthetics. Your practical strength will be much better because you're hitting all the stabalizing muscles.

Not only do I not have gyno, the point was that barbell squatting is more efficacious than dumbell squatting for anyone who's been lifting for more than like 3 months, moron. The only thing that compare to it is hack squats; goblets, step ups, and bss are not going to cut it. Post legs.

Dumbbell flys, chest press, anything that beings your hands/elvows closer together.
Barbell benching will not do much in terms of size.
