            Feel free to substitute rosemary for thyme for basting then steak, but it’s too powerful for mushrooms imo. It becomes obnoxious very easily, like the drunk uncle you see twice a year max. Thyme is more like a based dad who you spend time with regularly.

                Christmas dinner for my gf and I. Got a whole Muscovy duck, parted it out, made stock with the carcass and then a Demi glacé. Confited the legs and made bao buns after pulling the meat and combining with hoisin, tamari, fermented black bean paste and rice vinegar. Duck breast and vegetables are pretty self explanatory

                I did not see the post about stainless. Also I don't know which shit mushrooms you're cooking but red wine shouldn't change the appearance of the mushrooms besides making them darker, and the flavour compliments the beef better, and in my opinion just taste better in general cooked in red instead of white. You can even add cream and black pepper once the red wine has reduced to make a delicious sauce for the steak and mushrooms

                Usually chanterelle, Maitake or shiitake. Personally I think white wine complements the flavor of the mushrooms without bullying them too much like reds do and like I said don’t like how they look.. if I’m making something like stroganoff I’ll use red wine after cooking the mushrooms down. If you’re going to douse it in cream or whatever it doesn’t really matter

      I am a medical student. Medical education doesn't touch on metabolism, diet, supplementation or fitness at all. We are trained to diagnose and treat illness, not on the value of eggs or creatine supplementation.
      What that means is that your average doctor or medical student knows approximately fuckall about health and how to manage it in healthy individuals. I've had fellow students tell me creatine will cause kidney damage, and tell me that I should cycle it. I've had fellow students tell me that by eating in a caloric deficit I will enter starvation mode and gain weight.
      I would trust a doctor to manage an illness or injury. I wouldn't bother going to them for general health advice - it is outside of their scope and most of them are truthfully disinterested people who don't take any interest in health (and instead chase the career for clout and money) and therefore they do not learn it of their own volition.

            That was sous vide for 24 hours at 160 i think. Thyme, butter, garlic, bay, black
            pepper.. you can also braise it for 3-4 hours at 300 until the fat is rendered and tender, let it cool in the braise liquid at room temp then remove and refrigerate. The braise liquid is whatever you want but usually mire poix, garlic, thyme, coriander, black peppercorn, apples, beer, hard apple cider, white wine, whatever

            I like to slice and sear it in a pan after or you can broil the fat side til it’s crispy and then slice

    I went to Imperial and worked with medics
    Some of my best drinking mates there were medics
    they are a great laugh, but they are nothing more than confident memory machines
    The medical industry works on protocols and license
    They are given protocols to follow (eg from PHE/UKHSA/BMA etc in UK) which change constantly and if they deviate from these they are usually suspended (ie license revoked for 1 year).
    They know that a lot of the advice they give is bad but they have to do it to keep their jobs which they trained 6 fucking year (£££$£$£$$) for.
    Their sylabus is essentially set at uni by pharma since those companies LONG AGO bought out the best unis, and the shit unis copy their content.

    Please please stop listening to your GP in the GP office.

    If you want to listen to a doctor, go to a pub where docs hang out and get their non-proffesional advice

    Dietary cholesterol is de-esterified at an incredibly low rate in the body so unless you're eating a carton of eggs a day it isn't a problem. However, dietary fats and high blood triglycerides, particularly saturated fats, strongly evoke lipoprotein synthesis and elevated LDL levels. Therefore control your total fat and saturated fat intake rather than controlling specifically "high cholesterol foods".
