Working out with your girlfriend sucks. Totally ruins everything good about gym time.

Why I thought it would be a good idea to do it? Something about pheromones being released when working out. Then showering together afterwards. Seems kinda based.

Give it a shot but it’s really not a good time. I also live with my GF so it’s nice to get away for a little bit most days, might be different if you don’t cohabitate

      >Have to rerack weights
      >Can't spot you
      >Takes significantly longer

Just go away and do your own thing

Why you hate spending time with your gf?

I love spending time with my girlfriend, but it ends up like this

          I have a relatively fit gf and this is my experience;
          >Alright so this is how you workout your triceps. Don't move your back so much.
          >Don't move your elbows so much.
          >"This is how I want to do it"
          And then she's mad
Same thing with when my older sister got the urge to get fit, showed her how to do bodyweight squats and she got mad because they were too hard.
Abort mission now. Nothing good is gonna come out of it.

with her getting frustrated and it’s ultimately pointless.

          >takes twice as long
          >have to constantly switch out plates because women are super weak
          >don’t get to zone out and think about whatever while listening to tunes undisturbed
          >miss out on quality “me” time
          It just isn’t worth it.

        >I point out hot girls to my gf
        >She can spot me
        >I rerack weights anyway
        >She usually wants to leave before I'm done

I’ve got a home gym and it’s a pretty good time, I’d say at least give it a shot, it might not be for everyone but you never know until you try.

I enjoy lifting with my gf, she's mostly a cardio bunny so we do our in own thing for the most part. We also bike and ruck together.

I hate working out with another person. Working out alone helps me focus on my lifts, and it's also just more relaxing.

Everybody's different, though. Maybe just help your gf by planning out a routine for her? Most women will want to focus on legs + glutes, so your routine might not be the best for her goals.

Yes, and she was surprisingly quick in advancing her gains. I had to break her back to make sure she didn't surpass me.

She's already failed. She just wants to spend time with you, she doesn't give a shit about fitness.
You have to work out yourself, it's about you, your own goals and your own improvement - you can't do that with someone else coz everybody is at different levels.

Lifting weights is like the straight version of meditation.
You go in. Do some light cardio warmup. Focus on your lifts, hit a shower and sauna after. It’s uncomplicated. It makes sense. Your mind is on the iron.

Bringing a woman into the equation not only ruins the one part of the day where a man can switch off the world but now you have to worry about her too. You have to encourage her constantly or she’ll lose interest, you have to sacrifice time at the gym, I dare you to find a woman who’s okay with you spending more than 45min there. So now your lifts and progress suffer because of her. You’ll most likely have to design her routine for her too, or she’ll just copy yours which means now you’re spending time between each set reracking shit for her.

You wanna exercise with her? Go join a climbing gym together and do that a couple times a week. Or something of that nature. Maybe go swim laps.

The gym is your temple. Don’t let a gains goblin into your Temple
