Fruit and high quality chocolate would be my go to in your situation. I'd also lessen my calories a bit during the day to have room for the snack
I never thought about chocolate but you're right. Even just a few squares would do the trick
I have the same problem. I have switched to drinking a chocolate protein shake in raw milk. It seems to quench that urge.

dark chocolate, fruit, yoghurt, or stop giving so much of a shit and eat a small piece of cake as a treat. it won't kill you and unless you're aiming for 6% bodyfat it's not gonna affect you really

just stop eating at night. your gut bacteria is used to being fed at that time, so they will say as much, and your brain is habitualized to it as well do you crave and desire it. stop for a few days and you'll get over it like an addiction
