        > The extant sources agree that Socrates was profoundly ugly
        >resembling a satyr more than a man—and resembling not at all the statues that turned up later in ancient times and now grace Internet sites and the covers of books. He had wide-set, bulging eyes that darted sideways and enabled him, like a crab, to see not only what was straight ahead, but what was beside him as well; a flat, upturned nose with flaring nostrils; and large fleshy lips like an ass. Socrates let his hair grow long, Spartan-style (even while Athens and Sparta were at war), and went about barefoot and unwashed, carrying a stick and looking arrogant. He didn’t change his clothes but efficiently wore in the daytime what he covered himself with at night.

        >On his appearance, see Plato’s Theaetetus 143e, and Symposium 215a–c, 216c–d, 221d–e; Xenophon’s Symposium 4.19, 5.5–7; and Aristophanes’s Clouds 362.

          Seems legit.

Now tell me about how the ocean is the colour of wine using Homer as a source.

It's a non-sequitur anyway, you're just so incredibly dull I feel a social responsibility to emphasise that fact.

Plato and Xenophon were his students. I think they can be relied on as sources for their esteemed teacher's appearance.

If you're not squatting at least twice a week, your squat will not go up.

Every serious lifter is on at least a 4-day routine. 3-days are for beginners and people who don't care about the weight they're lifting.

Use a belt, helps a lot for taking upper body away as a point of failure.
Don't obsess or sperg out over form, don't use a from it go lower than what comes naturally naturally and feels good.

Sounds like you have limited ankle mobility. Try to elevate your heels with squatting wedges (big enough you don't fall off), and try both high bar and low bar squat.

Also maybe build upper body and back first? Just do maintenance squats for a couple months.

squats are a meme. Pass this on at least.

First vid should be enough if you're not moronic. If you're like me, however, watch them all.

    Unsexy but valid advice below.

Ensure your program has appropriate intensity, frequency & volume for your goals. If required find a pre-made program appropriate to your goals (5/3/1?).

Make sure the aforementioned program involves squatting at least once a week and, if required, accessory work to bring up lagging areas. Note that squats benefit from a strong upper body in general - I've always found vertical pulling exercise great for keeping bar in position.

Put in the effort but not at the expensive of recovery.

Get 1.6g protein/kg bodyweight minimum, 7+ hours sleep/night and make sure your calories aren't crazy low.

Check your form is on point, do some research on basic cues for keeping tight and explosive.

Do some basic mobility work during warmups.

Be willing to recognise the fact that you might not be built for massive back squats - e.g. if super tall or unfavourable leverages. Nothing wrong with maxing out other squat variations (front, zercher, etc.) or becoming a deadlift beast (conventional, trap bar... but no sumo frauding - kidding ofc).

If you're already doing all of the above - you can explore supplements such creatine, beta alanine, etc. Or steroid, prohormones, SARMS... up to you.

Lastly - sure use others performance as motivation to improve yourself but don't fall into the trap of making yourself miserable in the process.
