Soccer and frisbee are good but are tricky to organize if you don't have a ton of friends. I like basketball because I can show up to the courts pretty much any day and at least get some 3v3 games in

you can play soccer on any setting as long as you have a ball
at school we'd play free for all where you try to hold the ball and other players tried to take the ball from you

Based. In middle school we played Slaughterball which was just dodgeball with as many balls as we can get a hold of and causing as much chaos as possible. Last man standing wins. I won once and felt like a king.

Ive been a jump roping lately. Seems effective. Anyone have a ranking where theyd place jump rope for cardio/fat burning?

For fat burning it beats running by a long shot.

Ive been reading comparisons of it to running. One study found a minute on:30sec rest technique for 10mins total, which is basically 7mins of actual jump roping, was equal to 30mins of jogging in calories burned and cardio benefit.

Personally from my time doing it, Its different muscles exercise then running. Theres more of a calf workout then running, which feels more full leg working, but the cardio feel (breathe/heart rate/exhaustion) from jump rope feels superior to jogging, more like doing sprints or fast jogging. Trying to gauge if I should keep at it or stop wasting time and get into running for weightloss.

no fricking way, link to study?
How hard we talking jumproping when doing this?

I believe calories burned is much like jogging were it varies by intensity. The thing I did notice about doing it though, is there is a lower limit of intensity to jump roping were jogging you can basically game it to be walking but with a jogging like stride. Jump roping, if you go too slow, you cant maintain a proper jump rope rhythm. Its more difficult to game in trickery of intensity levels vs jogging. The online calculators ive used so general jogging to medium speed jump roping of same time as jump roping burning 1/3rd more calories. Not as much as the study claims but still better, plus alledgely better cardio improvement then running. To be safe Ive been doing 2 sessions of that studys 10min technique to check off the equivalent of 30min jog in my head.

            Heres the study abstract:

Heres the article I found it in that goes over the technique they used:

I honestly dont know why IST doesnt talk about it more. It fits the style of 4IST the best:
            >basically free
            >can be done anywhere
            >individual
            >efficient

Because IST isn't about getting fit. IST is about looking like the roid trannies and mega prostitutes on instagram because that's all zoomers care about and think is important.

Anon you need to lift weights 3x a week minimum when losing weight to maintain your musculature. If youre just doing cardio, youre going to lose a lot of fat and a lot of muscle too.

Jump rope is alot more low impact in comparison to running or jogging. Especially if you alter you jumping surface. Your only moveing your body the distance of a rope above the ground. You barely have to use your knees.

I'm not doubting the efficacy of jumping rope but for me its kind of boring and requires internal motivation. If I'm jump roping by myself its pretty easy to stop when it gets hard. With playing team sports I can get into a flow state from adrenaline where it doesn't really feel like I'm exercising and time passes quickly

I will admit n-ball is pretty fun to play. I used to play with the neighborhood kids every day after school. I was pretty good before any of us had finished puberty. But once I stopped growing at 5'7, I decided it was best if I moved onto other sports.
