15 minute powernap will unironically give you more energy than a cup of coffee
Bingo. 15 minutes when I'm genuinely exhausted or struggling with bad DOMS in a day has been a blessing. Any more than that, and I'm gonna be groggy, more tired than when I started, and won't fall asleep right at night.
If you can dial them in, its glorious though.
Naps are great for you. A 20 minute catnap has been shown to reduce fatigue dramatically... to all the anons who say a full 8 hours at night means you won't be tired enough in the daytime to need a nap, you sound like you've never worked a hard job or lifted at a high RPE. After I get home from the gym, even in the middle of the day, I will need to rest my eyes a little after a few hours
This is most likely true. Emphasis on the catnap-aspect. If you sleep longer, you cut into your sleep pressure, which reduces your nightly sleep quality.
Your body has two rythms: Sleep pressure and Circadian rythm. If your sleep patterns are ideal, you have high sleep pressure when your Circadian rythm is low. As a consequence, when you wake up in the morning, your Circadian rhythm is already preparing for activity (you feel rested after sleep) and your sleep pressure is low.
Roughly six hours, give or take for each person, your Circadian runs low again and even though your sleep pressure is not built up completely, this is a great time for a small rest or nap of 20 to max. 25 min. >inb4 soeynce
Look at any traditional society. Even my late grandfather held a rest/nap-period after lunch when he had worked his six hours on the field. >inb4 Onassis

It’s not a deep sleep; you don’t get into REM cycle. Just get comfy and chill. US Air Farce did some medical studies, came up with a way to get people to sleep fast. You basically just get comfy, start tensing, then relaxing all your muscle groups, progressively going from toes to head. Works for me. The mental aspect of calming your mind, that’s on you.
If you're not tired enough to fall into some level of rest, you're not in need of a nap. Don't try to force it. Lay back, set a 15 minute alarm, close yer eyes, and clear yer thoughts. You'll not have any obvious "I am asleep" cessation of awareness and sudden passage of time, but you should be able to get supremely comfortable, your brain will calm, and those will feel like a looooong 15 minutes.
Do people nap regularly? I've never been able to fall asleep in the day unless I'm beyond exhausted, otherwise I just lay there for 15 minutes awake with my eyes closed.
Naps are for old people, really young people, or sick people. Naps are literally not for anyone who is on a track to accomplish anything of note.
>m-muh siesta
Look up the scholarship of the siesta. It was literally brought on because malaria, meaning the sick. Basically, napping is for the weak and the sick.
yeah young people can nap because they can still sleep infinite time at night, but as you get older and sleep gets harder naps just frick you up. which sucks because they feel amazing.
depends how tired you are. sometimes it actually fits real good but only rarely. theres only two people I know that naps a lot regularly, they are both fatfrick obeses lards who can't handle effort which they get exhausted and nap.

Lie down in a cool, dark room
Set an alarm for 15 or 20 minutes
Close your eyes and try to just relax
Doesn't matter if you "fall asleep," it still helps
Napping just encourages your body to become extra sleepy in the afternoon, and like coffee if you don't keep up the habit you'll feel fricking awful.
No naps, no coffee and consistent 8 hours can be annoying to accomplish but you will eventually hit the point where you are alert 16 hours a day until it's time for bed.
There seem to be some people that can pull of such a sleep pattern but I would not bet on it. Sleep was probably under very high evolutionary pressure and the outcome for humans was a short (relative to other primates) 7 to 8 hour long more or less continuous sleep. I would assume this is natural and anything else might be unstable. But this is just conjecture.
definitely cringe. doesn't cause muscle building and fricks your actual sleep up.
Fpbp. If you feel the urge to nap, you need to sleep better at night.
But I nap 2-4 hours a day AND sleep 8 hours uninterrupted at night
me too bro, I can't tell if it's good or bad for me yet
It’s sick bro just listen to your body I always crash when I finish work then I wake up fresh and hit the gym
Throught history napping was a normal and needed. Other mammals nap too.
I love coffee but modern daily consuption for sure fricks up your sleep cycle even if you drink it in the early midday
how much caffeine do you guys drink per day?
None
>ywn know the glory of a pre-gym nap
napchads rise up

How do you actually fall asleep in 15 minutes ?

completely made up method with nothing behind it
based placebo science blows the frick out of another low iq anon maybe try believing your muscles will grow instead of anime girls anon

This shit right here
Eating a small meal and taking a 15 minutes power nap is the best pre workout especially if you go after work
I nap because I have a disturbed circadian rhythm that causes me to only be able to sleep about 4 hours at a time
Do people nap regularly? I've never been able to fall asleep in the day unless I'm beyond exhausted, otherwise I just lay there for 15 minutes awake with my eyes closed.

Naps are fine as long as you don’t go into deep sleep. Limit them to 20 minutes and you’re good, otherwise you risk fricking up your cicardian rhythm.
If you wake up from a nap feeling groggy you fricked up.

>take 10-15 minute nap after having a banana and either coffee or green tea
>have more energy than taking ~~*pre-workout*~~ as well as more benefits
No reason not to have a quick nap with a timer on before a workout, especially if it’s during the afternoon.

i wish i knew how to nap

>”and I have nothing to back up what I said!”
Post shake naps are based and healthy. Get that digestion going.
is the 4-4 hours sleep scheme good

I always feel worse after a nap than without one. used to feel great taking naps
easy to get fit if you sleep a lot between exercise, if you skip out you gain weight and gains tank
Good if you need a boost, but definitely NOT GOOD as a daily thing.
