is it possible to bulk up while cutting. I though muscle mass is lost on a cut.

      Starting strength 5x5

You won't be aesthetic for a long time but you will be strong. It will get you into the gym and living healthier.

sorry bro, just going in for aesthetics right now

Don't listen to these guys, just drink 1/3 cup of olive oil every night before bed.
For exercise run ONLY at night. Meditation also will help you greatly, it builds discipline therefore allowing you to stick to diets longer

What will the olive oil do, never heard of this before

          Just lift, dude.
          Don't listen to this moron
strength training makes you more prone to injury
          Do the aesthetics training
You can do 5x5 workouts if you really want but you could also do 3-4x8-12
Make sure to train arms seperately aswell
If you're not really sure just watch Natural Hypertrophy on Youtube, he's got great advice
Just be consistent and remember, you will do this for the rest of your life, and then some day you will be fit.

it will keep the night fairies from stealing your chi while you sleep, very important

Similar to OP, should i just do a frick load of cardio for a few months then start lifting after im not so chunky

cardio does almost nothing for weight loss, it's 90% diet

If you're a beginner literally just eat somewhat intelligently and do a compounds routine for a few months
    Or just read the sticky

Get your macros down, it’s like 95% of it, or else you’ll get muscle and be stronger but won’t see any of it.
Luckily you can take advantage of NEWBIE GAINZ, so eat a TON of protein. Up to 1/2 your calories should be protein. Usually that’s too much but NEWBIE GAINZ. go lowish fat moderate carbs. You’ll need some carbs because you’ll be working out a lot to take advantage of NEWBIE HAINZ, right? The answer is yes.

If you are an obsolute beginner then is easy to cut fat while gaining muscle, just eat at maintenance while eating 120-180g of protein daily, although you will plateau pretty fast, after 3-6 months of that, after that you have to either bulk or cut, do the starting strength program for the first few month or even up to a year, and sleep 7-9 hours every night

    Is literally that easy

Never try to skip/shorten your warmup. I've started like 3 months ago and I had to stop for almost month because I decided that "yeah frick that long warm up" and my right forearm hurt like hell for more than two weeks.

Brace yourself and understand progress takes a long and slow time. This shit is supposed to be for the rest of your life not the rest of the month.
