All pro cyclist do leg day in the gym. Squats and deadlifts are very beneficial for cycling performance

This, don't choose and do both. Bike gets you endurance but leg day will really help you on the hill climbs. Most people even with casual biking will build distance pretty quickly but elevation is what will drain you if you don't train legs.

Only to a point. Squats and bike sprints are good for building your lactic acid tolerance which definitely helps with long sustained climbs.

Being fat is what will drain you on elevation, not skipping leg day. The more the grade goes up, the more watts/kg matters

Oh no I spend 15 hours a week on my passion doing what makes me happy, how awful. As a bonus, that gives me a lot of free time to listen to audiobooks for mental gains too.

Mine works better after riding. Sure in the beginning you might be sore or the little guy shrivels up since it's cold. After the shower he is good to go.

Just buy a saddle that fits ffs.

I started riding a brooks cambium and it's the best saddle I've ever owned.

It's a tad heavy, but it's essentially a floating piece of shaped and textured rubber. Way more comfortable than it looks.

I've done several centuries and big mile gravel races on it with zero issue.

I sit on the bolts in the back. Hurts like hell.

After 1200km on this saddle in one go I found that theres no real spot to sit. Either you sit far back and sit on the bolts, not recommending that, or you sit in the middle and have it sag so much that the bolt in the front eats into your balls..

Padding in the shorts (called a chamois, traditionally a type of leather now foam). In thicker varieties it’s more pronounced under each testicle so there’s a less dense area between. My best guess what’s going on there.

I believe before the modern foam padding, deer leather was the preferred taint protection of the serious cyclist.
