        All of his advice is reasonable and uncontroversial:

        same i have no problem getting to sleep but i wake up every two hours and sometimes I'll be able to rack up 7-8 hours and feel great and usually its 4-6 hours and I want to die. I don't know if it's nicotine withdrawal, or long term opi withdrawal

        took a while for my sleep cycle to adjust but also the obvious things like not going to bed worrying about stuff, not getting into an internal monologue in bed (this was the hardest for me)
        basically before bed you need to be in a blank relaxed state which takes time to get right

    Because his advice is super hit or miss.

    One day he might talk about sleep and how certain habits inhibit sleep or benefit your sleep, completely based on the physiology of the body.

    The next day he's talking about Turkesterone being a miracle supplement or why you should wear cooling gloves in-between sets.

    If your teacher was as wrong (to the degree he is too) this often, you'd stop listening to that teacher.
