      It actually does unless you want to fuck up your joints when you are a beginner. Especially with chin ups etc. Just do them slow enough to count 5 on top and 3 going down.

    I never did any sports ever and spent 31 years of my life smoking a pack a day, eating sneed oils and drinking and YET I got to 12 pull ups from dead hang after 4 months of irregular training when my squat was 70kg for one rep
