Now that eggs are rich man's food, what should a poor man eat for protein?
Is it finally time to be bug-pilled or bean-pilled?

Don't care, I'm still milk-and-sugar-pilled
>sugar
sneaky gs propaganda post. wasted digits. You will never win.
Lactose and lactase are good sugars. Keep coping and crying homosexual
Lactase is not a sugar.
Haha I know I was only pretending to be moronic. Seeing if you were on your toes haha.
You're not me.
I was 70% right. It's the enzyme that breaks it down.
I go to the natural foods store now. All their local eggs are still the same price as 2 years ago just about
I can buy 60 eggs for <10 bucks, not gonna say where
In theory this is still good but it used to be like 6 bucks
Get small yard with grass. Don't use any chemicals on grass. Let it grow and don't mow unless it's ridiculously high. Water heavy at night for worms, they love it and makes soil great. Have 5 hens. Clip their wings so they don't jump the fence. Boom free eggs
Problem?
This is what I do.
How do you buy hens?
How do you prevent wild predators from eating those hens?
I have a llama that kills predators
>a llama that kills predators
I would love to see that llama do his thing. Sounds brutal.
But how do I get a llama?
You get a llama egg.
Where do I find a llama egg?
Most pet stores stock them, though they are very expensive. I have a friend who lives on a farm who bought one for around $700 iirc
Dude, I think you have an Ostrich.
Find a farmer who will sell u some via facebook or social media. Check your local groups or just put out a post asking for farmers. Failing that go to a livestock auction an prepare to be ripped off. A hen costs 5 to 20 dollars depending on age and variety. To stop predators you literally just keep them in a SECURE and relatively clean coop. Feed them “growers pellets” (get these at a farm supply shop) until they’re about 24 weeks old. At 24 weeks switch them to “layers pellets.” Make sure the feeder is either one like pic rel or suspended from the coop ceiling to stop rats (same goes for water Supplement their diet with eggshells for calcium, grass (that isn’t covered in weed killer), lettuce.
If they look healthy and “chatter” then they’re happy and you’re doing a good job. You can let them out for exercise and to forage (also if they shit on your potato patch, it’s good fertiliser) but make sure you master picking them up first (tame them by rewarding them with a blade of grass when they sit in your arms) as they can be difficult to get back in the coop and remember that they can fly for a few yards.I recommend white Sussex bantams as they’re small and docile but lay almost every day. Get at least 4. If you get at least 10 you can make a decent profit. Rhode Islands are also cute.
T. Guy who pooled money with his father to start keeping chickens and keeps getting shit advice
>they don’t lay every day
Yes but they lay almost every day maybe yours are just undernourished. Egg production tapers off as the chicken gets older but then you can always get more chickens and they’ll still lay eggs for a while just not as frequently
Forgot to post feeder. Plastic ones work but look decrepid and poverty tier after a while. If I didn’t have plastic ones that work fine and I had to start over I would be inclined to get pic right but in metal.
buy eggs from the store and let them hatch
I bought some online for $10 each including shipping. But I recently found some at a local feed and seed store for only $5. I have 5 breeds and Red stars have consistently given me an egg a day even in the winter when the others stopped.
The bird flu is fake af. It’s COVID for birds. They even use the same faulty PCR tests. They just want to stranglehold small farmers to give up so big food can take over everything indefinitely.
I have a metal one and would like to switch to plastic because they’re starting to rust
I have 7 hens and 2 roosters in a backyard that is roughly 1500 square feet
I built this coop out of scrap and pallet wood. Only spent money on screws, wire and the roof
What is the point to having a rooster let alone 2 besides waking your neighbors at 4 a.m.?
They protect from wildlife like foxes and raccoons. That said, and I am talking out of my ass I think, you can’t have two roosters in the same pen because they will kill each other in a fight for dominance. If he has two complete separate pens and roosts then it is golden. You can also have a guard goose but it has to be raised by a chicken from an egg.
Ideally one has to become soup soon but I like them too much to do em dirty (don’t name what you’ll kill)
Having one is fun and beneficial at times since they look out for the hens in terms of food and danger and can fertilize eggs if you want to hatch chicks.
Surprisingly enough they haven’t really beefed all that much just little fights here and there. They share the hens and everyone gets fed good so I figure that’s enough for them. Pic related is one of my roosters and his favorite hen
local feed and seed

Are you trying to be moronic or do you just like reddit?
the flu is hitting big factory farms the hardest, which is why the price of niche cage free eggs from smaller farms hasn't gone up as much.
Also muh evil big corpo loves profits as you lefty gays like to say, but why would this greedy capitalist company let anyone kill their birds over something fake?
Lol big food still wins. They have money to replace shit especially just by increasing the price of what they sell. Normal people don’t. They have nothing to actually lose and everything to gain. Hegelian dialect. Problem reaction solution
post chicken coop
I've been doing some research on personal urban homesteading. Ducks are superior to chickens for eggs
>eggs have more protein and fat, are larger
>also taste better and very useful in cooking
>lay eggs more frequently
>lay eggs for 9-10 years instead of 2 years
>smarter and have personalities, are social creatures
>their shit is gold for soil
>their meat is also fantastic eating
>you can plant some orchard trees to drop berries and have a self sustaining cycle
>not as noisy
etc. Ducks are superior chickens
I want to start my duck tractor but I can't homestead as a rentoid. Still at least 5 years away from owning a house. feels bad
Also they are rapists, so you get to enjoy a based show everyday
You can't rape if you lack morals and free will
You've never seen a duck rape
Be careful with waterfowl, they accumulate parasites quickly. Keep them away from still water. Their eggs won't be affected but their meat can be full of cysts
They also eat slugs like crazy from your garden without destroying the ground like chickens do when foraging.
Ducks are much harder to take care of. And also the point of chickens is to get the eggs, and in a couple years butcher them for food. Ducks live too long for that. Also, they aren't good to be kept cooped up like chickens.
You aren't some genius, there's a reason most farmers do chickens. Also ducks are way more expensive vet wise.
from my experience of having chickens duck, horses and donkeys.
duck are the best to frick, and easier, they are easily tame for fricking purpose.
also donkey milk is the best.
>cant afford 50c eggs? Just buy a house for half a million so you can raise chickens in your yard
thanks for the tip
In most euro countries you can rent plots to grow food and keep chickens on from the local authorities like pic rel. Is this not the case in America? In my country (England) it generally costs about $70 a year and you get about 1/8 to 1/4 of an acre to grow food on. This is more than enough to grow a lot of food on, meaning you need to spend far less of your money on food from stores.
This applies in the west and in post-communist states (where people are a lot more reliant on these plots) btw.
Can you keep chickens on an allotment? How do you stop people fricking with your food?
Bro I just went to buy a pack of 30 eggs for 10$ at Costco
man, 12 eggs in a fricking whole foods costs $3.40 or so
All you had to do was murder bill gates.
at my heb 18 eggs is $8 in Texas wtf.
dude what the frick? I used to live in TX and I remember buying a dozen eggs for a buck fifty. And this was just a few years ago.
Eggs are based because you can just like, steal them really easily
>walk into store
>Put 400 eggs into my full body custom made egg holster
>buy 1 gum
>bump into cute girl on street
>start sweating scrambled eggs
idk, maybe just get some hens.
do you live in California or something? you should move.
Obviously it's not good for cutting protein, but my heaven is scooping peanut butter straight out of the jar and washing it down with milk.
I started cutting though, so maybe milk and peanut butter skyrocketed in price the last year too.
Chia seeds
Yurop had some bird flu. They slaughtered so many birds the egg prise rose 52%. I nearly shat myself on the checkout, when I saw my 15eggs costing 7 bucks instead of 3.50. I bought 4 cartons
Sounds like the prices in the US are only getting affected then because US farmers are choosing to export larger portions of their stock to Europe instead of keeping it local, taking advantage of the higher prices they can fetch over there, while creating scarcity in the US, and therefore jacking up US prices, too.
And they get millions in taxpayer subsidies why?
Because if your farmers don't get subsidies your entire national food supply goes bankrupt and you become reliant on brazilian basedbean farmers who do get subsidies
>Sounds like the prices in the US are only getting affected then because US farmers are choosing to export larger portions of their stock to Europe instead of keeping it local
moron, no-one is exporting american eggs to europe
america has also been hit by bird flu and culled many birds, reducing supply
No, eggs have gone up because massive swaths of farmland have been bought up by corporate entities who want to turn all farmland into cheap veggie sludge slop product. It easier to farm and requires less workers for amounts of food. You are now the product. So called bird flu has happened countless times in the past and I never remember the price spiking. I never remember it because it never happened. You are witnessing a synthetic lowering of demand for an excuse to take away your supply of healthy food. Remember, you are now a product and you just need enough energy to get to work in the morning to slave away and struggle to pay your rent.
>I never remember it because it never happened.
You don't remember it because you're a fricking moron.
>Jul 2015
https://www.theguardian.com/vital-signs/2015/jul/14/bird-flu-devastation-highlights-unsustainability-of-commercial-chicken-farming
>The avian flu outbreak that has more than doubled egg prices across the country has also led to the death of more than 48 million birds in a dozen states, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/07/eggs-texas-supermarket-rationing-bird-flu
>A large Texas supermarket chain has begun rationing eggs, in the face of a growing national shortage brought about by an outbreak of avian flu.
>Customers shopping at many outlets of the H-E-B chain of supermarkets have been confronted by notices telling them they are restricted to buying three cartons of a dozen eggs per shopper.
The difference this time is that the bird flu squeeze on supply is coming at the same time as a 40 year-high of inflation on all parts of the economy, including bird feed.

You should eat eggs
Imagine a World in which you are being priced out of the most basic food items. When man cannot eat meat he becomes an herbivore, and herbivores are always prey.
What system led you here? What decision? Who made it? Partly us for inaction, partly them for their greed.
You want meat? Go and hunt for it. No one else will deliver anymore.
It's all planned. Slave food for the slave caste.
Slavery is a choice when youre not in chains
>herbivores are always prey
elephants, hippos, rhinos, gorillas and oxes/buffalos can btfo any carnivore animal
>mfw know a farmer and get 36 eggs for €10
Beans are disgusting and so are bugs. Buy from a farmer who sells eggs under the table for a real price instead of from corrupt government food cartels.
eat the rich
>American eggs cost over 4x as much as Japanese eggs while being filled with hormones, antibiotics, and other cancerous shit
Lmao
Inflation
Thanks Putin
Take the deerpill. Literally just dropped a doe on New Year’s Eve and put some meat in the freezer. Feels good bros
This people are too detached from their meat source.
i just finished off my last deer meat, i never know what to cook with it besides eggs or breakfast food
How are you processing it? I usually use the front quarters for small roasts and split the rear quarters into half large roasts and half steaks. Backstrap can be done either way as well. Then any scraps trimmed off the neck and body along with anything extra from the legs gets me at least ten pounds of burger meat even off a small doe.
You just have to get creative with it, like any other meat. Definitely don’t discount throwing a roast in a crockpot with some potatoes and carrots and shit, it’s fricking heavenly. Chili’s a good one too.
i always get sausage since its easier to store in the freezer and doesn't take much to cook it. but chili sounds like a good idea, ill try that when i get some more
There's a farm down the road from me selling 12 eggs for $3 farm fresh. At my last house there were 10 farms doing about the same. Have you tried to talking to farmers?
You know you can buy half a cow (go in with a partner, each take half) AND get it butchered for less than $2,000 (about $1500 per person where I'm at). That food will last a family a year.
>inb4 middle of nowhere
I lived just outside of Austin in my last house.
I can buy a box with 30 dozen extra-large egg for less than 40 bucks (in my currency) straight from a state's supply warehouse
Chicken breast and beef liver are relatively dirty cheap too
Feels good being a third worlder sometimes
I'm eating 12 eggs a day for huge protein gains
Mostly it's just caligays and citycucks suffering. I regularly get 40lbs of chicken thighs for $10, and bulk eggs are about the same price as yours, 15 dozen for like $22 or so.
I only make $90k and can still afford eggs. How fricking poor are you if you can't even afford that?
>$90k
You rich bastard
90k is pretty good anon, that’s way more than a vast majority of people will ever earn and more than enough to live comfy
>ONLY make $90k
>thinks $90k isn't considered rich
israelite detected
Those are rookie numbers son. You gotta bump that up to 6 figs
the goat
>what should a poor man eat for protein?
A rich man.
I can buy 10 eggs for less than $2 in my country ($1100 being the median wage here), which is definitely more expensive than a few years ago (around $1 IIRC), but they're still fairly affordable, I mean eggs are basically superfood, so it has to go higher for me to give up on them.
all we had to do was murder klaus shwab
test
Eggs deenz and milk are such foundational pillars of my diet that I will simply adjust other areas of live to accommodate them.
I thought our prices for eggs were high
