nutritionally, i don't understand why sweet potato isn't more popular. it absolutely mogs rice in every way imaginable. the only way i can ever see rice being a better option is getting out of being a skele dyel

you really don't understand why a non-perishable dried good is more popular than a perishable one?
>living in the most stable and peaceful time in human history
>saying something that perishable is a reason not to reap its benefits
moron
please elaborate
>taste over function
ngmi
you asked why it was less popular you double Black person. People don't plan shit and half their food spoils why would potatoes they tuck away in a cupboard be any different.
I really don't understand why we don't grow more of the asian cultivars we made varieties that grow better in our soil but taste like theirs. The orange ones are probably the worst ones there are from a taste perspective although they're fine if you let them ripen and bake them under 425 so the starches have more time to enzymatically convert to sugars instead of just go straight to burning.
>please elaborate
elaborate on what?
anon I don't want my potatoes to be sweet, in any fashion. end of story.
they're out of place in every single meal because of it, they're not popular for a reason and they deserve every bit of it
>doesn’t enjoy food
Damn Black person I feel sorry for you
tastes gross, and americans somehow make it even worse by adding sugar and fricking marshmallows
>americans somehow make it even worse by adding sugar and fricking marshmallows
the entire world isn't america. i have never heard of adding sugar and marshmallows to potato you chicago Black person
>the entire world isn't america
Not for lack of trying.
Personally, I hate the taste of sweet potatoes so I never eat them. Have you ever considered that taste might be why they're not more popular?

purple sweet potatoes brah
food of the gods
Ube is the goat
Those sweet potatoes are plotting something
Someone on IST said you should add cinnamon to sweet potatoes, anyone try this? Is it good?
Barely matters
Rice is very cheap, pretty neutral in taste and the main reason I eat it.. it's very calorie dense and easily digestible. I do like sweet potato but it costs like 3€/kg whereas rice is more like 1.30€/kg and you can get it even cheaper in bulk.
this. and cheap rice is all dry, containing significantly more calories. If you compare cooked rice vs cooked sweet potatoes, it's like 10 times higher price.
Except taste. Rice taste like heaven.
it used to be really popular 2012-2014 fitness era.
One of my favourites. Add some spices and put it under the grill and its fantastic.
sweet potatoes have a protein called sporamin that is a form of trypsin inhibitor, we use trypsin to digest protein.
I eat potatoes/sweet potatoes on a cut if I need carbs.
Way more filling. I can eat a frickton of rice and not get full.
Big Rice wants to keep it down.
As someone who actually grows the crops, Corn > Small Grain > Sweet Potato > Yam > Rice.
