actually, besides technique; something that can really help in a fight is being heavier than your opponent. i have a few sparing partners who are fat sure they dont go the long run but those first 3 rounds are hard.

Ye mass matters but depending on your experience in boxing(or just striking in general) it matters less if your technique is shit. When we're all new the bigger guy will probably win but if all they rely on is their size they will quickly be left behind by those who actually focus on technique and skill. I'm saying this as a bigger guy btw

Idiots who've never done a martial art really think it's that easy huh??? You dumbasses don't even realize that tackles work better depending on the type of boxer, for outboxers unless you have a LOT OF EXPERIENCE against that type your tackles will miss and you'll keep getting shredded by the asphalt and if you're against an in-fighter type they'll land easier as they tend not to be that maneuverable but a tackle is kinda easy to counter, you don't even need to train it that hard lol

As an outboxer who maneuvers easily, I second this. Space space space, strike!

Boxing is literally the goat martial art for street fights. Imagine trying to pull guard in a bar fight jfl, that shit only works in a controlled environment.

A real street fight goes like this: drunk butthole starts shit, you dodge the first punch, then counter with a one two and get the frick out of there

I am going to learn Muay Thai after boxing, kek. Gonna have elephant trunk elbows

        Anonymous

It'll be easier if you do dutch style muay thai first. Boxing has a lot of weaving and ducking that doesn't transfer over well because of knees and kicks, and you'll spend a considerable amount of time trying to unlearn that

          >Boxing has a lot of weaving and ducking that doesn't transfer over well because of knees and kicks
Nah that’s not really a big deal, the majority of casual boxers don’t move their head enough for it to cause problems.

For some reason knee's and elbow's came to me naturally when it came to striking. I had to learn boxing and karate to make sure my strikes were refined though, otherwise my whole technique is just unrefined street brawling.

I love delusional people who think they will just "fight dirty" against a boxer or MMA fighter and win, as if the trained fighter doesn't know how to fight dirty as well, only he can dish out way worse.

Best way to learn how to fight naturally is getting into fights in middle and high school,I used to do alot of wrestling with my bros larping as WWE fighters except we were actually performing the moves, and here and there I'd get into a few real proper skirmishes that have overdeveloped my reflexes and fight iq to an instinctual level. If you're just starting it will be a bit more difficult for you to convert those skills into focused muscle memory once a confrontation arises in which you need to do so. Carrying a weapon at all times is best as well because you don't know what the other person could be hiding in their shirt/jacket/pants waiting for you.

Street fight is a homosexual fancy for poor people. Why would you ever put yourself in a position to start a fight when that person could have a gun or a knife.

Just stop thinking it makes you a tough guy. I was that dude in my 20s and got stabbed by a Hispanic after I fricked up his friend. Took about 3 minutes for the stab to go from lol who stabbed me to blacking out from blood loss. Shit sucks and no one will ever fight fair.

Also got sucker punched in a bar fight before that once. Dude just didnt like me and clocked me with a roll of quarters in his hand, knocked me down but not out. Lost vision in an eye for a day and a half.

It'll never be a fair fight, and if it is the bigger guy will win 9/10.

Humans weren't designed to put down their opponents with blunt, ineffective attacks like punches and kicks. We became top of the food chain due to opposable thumbs and the ability to craft tools.
The reason that human beings aren't all oversized, myostatin-deficient gorrilla-like freaks is that Grug figured out how to make a spear, and kill bigger Grug with it.
Carry a knife or buy a gun if you really want to protect yourself.

How do I get into boxing?

find a gym online and give them a call. If you want to get a good gym, a good indicator is how many fighters they produce and are active. The same thing applies to other striking arts

Real talk is it better in a year to box twice a week and lift four to five times a week, gaining just for comparisons sake 15kg bw and adding 60kg to power clean. Or box four times a week and lift twice a week gaining 7kg bw and adding 30kg to power clean.
