Lower back pain from OHP?
Stop being clowns that over arch into a standing incline bench. This is why I never take online OHP numbers serious.
Don't do this, way too easy to thrust into over-extension. Pause and bounce into your lat stretch reflex each rep before driving. Squeeze your ass/hip flexors or whatever, tighten core, lean back slightly with thorasic extension, drive and get under the bar.
this, the lift offers extremely difficult and slow progression if a strict form is applied, some of these homosexuals' numbers will drop by 1/3 if someone were to correct their movement
>Lower back pain from OHP? >Stop being clowns that over arch
yup second time I did it with pensioner weights on the dumbbels and feeling the lower back in a concerning way (snapped my shit up years ago so I'm wary)
looks like I'll have to look up exactly what safe form is for this, that 30 second fitness video didn't show anything from the side iirc
The only thing that happens when I OHP is my shoulders start hurting for weeks, and I develop lower back pain. I also once passed out and dropped the weight on my fricking head doing 5x5, woke up crushed in to a broken wall heater with 65 kg's over my neck and back and a nasty wound on my head lol... And I've tried every technique in the book for over 10 years...
Lateral raises give better gains anyway. Frick the OHP.
>>do OHP
erectors are destroyed for a week
How heavy are you lifting? Because when I press I feel no erector strain, that being said I have a relatively weak press(170lbs @ 180lbs)
Bros. Fit noob here. Been working out for a couple months only. Making gains losing weight. Eating well etc.
I had two back operations around 10 years ago. Surgeon said it was the worst disc protrusion he had ever seen in 40 years. Had one microdiscectomy then that blew out so had to have a second a month later. He said for the rest of my life it’ll be like driving around with one bald tyre.
What gym machines or exercises should I avoid?
Will I ever be able to do squats or DL?
I already notice back compression when I do the seated OHP machine thing.
Thanks
Honestly, I'd just start with very light weight and see if you can take it. You'll know if it's too much and if it is drop it. You've healed quite a bit in that time. Take it slow and take collagen pills.
Lmao
Doctors are spineless c**ts who will only say stuff they can’t be liable for and the most vanilla insightless thoughtless turd fart shit c**t words frick them every single one
>OP does an exercise with too much weight or comprises form >gets injured >blames the exercise
holy shit please have a nice day you moronic Black person
Try not to lean back as much if you prefer not to use erectors but personally I like that feeling of being a spring
I use the hip thrust method, I too like the spring

Rippedtoad got another one boys
use lighter weights until you can handle it, I mean, it's really not that hard, are you moronic?
I am so frustrated... If I can't get 1 plate next week I will be very mad
lol I just repped 1pl8. gl man it was kinda heavy...
gj man, how many reps? i tried today... therewas a cutie miring... but I couldn't get it over my head... fricking hell
3 reps. don't bother going for a 1rm just for 1pl8 as that weight is too low to be worth the deload after.
are you mexican by any chance
DYELs detected
t. 1 plate plus 5 lbs on each side 🙂
Ultra dyel detected
t. 193 lbs for 5 at bw of 193 lbs
>do it correctly
>no bouncing or jerking of any sort
>never get hurt
>look way more impressive
feels good
Goddam right!
you're not supposed to bend your back doing it. lower the weight.
A slight leanback is fine anon
you only lean (without arching) to get the bar around your face
Could you please show me your strict 200 lbs overhead press with only head tilting?
hows your L2
mogs yours everyday of the week
>do weight you can't do cause you are too lazy to put on a 25 a 5 and a 2.5
Just did 1pl8 on this lads, caught a cutie doing 1pl8 deads next looking at me in total awe

Ohp day tomorrow frens, shooting for 82.5kg x 8, wish me luck

I lift 127.5lb. Im an ohplet
That's still better than like 80% of all men anon, you're good
I want to be better than 100% of men though
I guess you just have weak erectors what is your deadlift?
315. Very weak erectors
no, that means that your erectors are fricking weak and need to adapt to the heavier load
Why the frick does this shit plateau so easily? I've been stuck at 155 for 9 for over 6 months
Don't do 1rm's much. Probably around 115 or 125lbs right now. If you brace you shouldn't have low back pain.
245 1rm
How do you progress? I can do 1 pl8 3x5 but am trying to bump it to 5x5, is it even worth it or should I add more weight
You gotta do this program I found on here yesterday. I’ll paste it for you.
moronic IST OHP program:
-do 5 reps with empty barbell
-add 10 lbs and repeat until you fail
-repeat the whole process with 4, 3, 2, then 1 rep.
This actually works you numbskull homosexual
Why are you so triggered?
just have fun and it all comes naturally
>t. 185 lbs log press
Stop doing them for a while and switch to seated dumbbell pressed with full rom (dumbbells hit collarbone) for two months then return to barbell
Anyone feel this lift in their lats when going heavy? Whenever I try a 1rm on these my lats get doms, am I fricking up or what?

Yeah he should instead listen to some ISTner and hurt his back trying to "not be a pussy"
Flex your glutes while preforming the exercise. This will keep your posture straight
>overhead press
>costs nothing
>mfw I can only OHP 45kg for 3 reps
>mfw I can only do 37.5kg for 3 reps
I am a new lifter and I have been tracking my progress. I am wondering if I am progressing to quickly and if it will lead me to snap city.
40kg 5x5
45kg5x5
50kg 5x8 (Felt extra pumped this day)
These are with pretty strict form and going at this rate I will have gone from 40kg to 60kg in the span of about 2 months. Thoughts?
Do you people not squat or deadlift? How the frick is the weight you use for OHP enough to fatigue your back?
lmfaoing @ morons doing ohp instead of seated db shoulder press
Peak zoomer cope, your back will never survive those lashes Black person.
