Oil thread

How many calories will adding oil to baked potatoes add? Cause not all the oil is absorbed into the potato so is it even worth counting?

A tablespoon of olive oil is 120kcal so yes, you should be aware of it. I switched away from OO on my cut

What'd you use instead? I want seasoning to stick to shit but also dont want to waste calories on oil

I use zero calorie avocado oil. There is also zero calorie canola oil. Just look for those.
Another option is egg after it has been whisked, but that has to be counted obviously.

You could also use nuclear waste instead of those kind of oils, have the same amount of garbage in them

Listen, fat. You just add the oil to your CICO. Nevermind that "not all the oil is absorbed into the potato". You count those fricking calories, so you can reach your goal faster. Got that, fat?

eh this is fine on cut but becomes more of a problem on a bulk. I've had to get out of the habit of overestimating like this because it was causing me to struggle to gain mass.

Do you cook everything in oil? I fail to see how a single spoonfull somehow screw up your bulking, when it's all about the calorie intake.

on a cut you always round up/include. on a bulk you always round down/exclude. pretty simple.

Should I make omelette using olive oil or butter? Currently I use a bit of both.

Both are healthier for you than sneedoils, so it depends entirely on the flavour profile you want.

    Make. It. Without. Oil.
If you MUST cook it in some sort of fat (you're prob a fatass, but that's okay), cook it in butter or lard, preferably butter. Go LIGHT on it, and log those calories.

Get extra virgin and be cognizant of what you're using.

    >15mls
    >120cals

Just the right amount to help season fish with some rosemary. I usually always apply it with a brush. Has some baked snapper with lemon, thyme, a bit of salt/pepper and rosemary yesterday. Shit was good.

Counting calories seems like a miserable and unsustainable way to approach food.
