Okay moron. We overconsume Omega 6 & 9 fatty acids and under-consume our 3's. This can lead to increased inflammation, scaly skin, cracking nails, and skin issues. Omega 3's can improve blood sugar regulation, and brain, joint, and heart health. Fricking moron.

The only reason you 'need' the omega-3s is because of the consumption of omega-6s to negate some of the damage. It's best to consume neither to the best of your ability, they were deemed 'essential' fatty acids because they helped rats that were actually deficient in vitamins b5 and b6, before they were discovered.

It's good but not WOW HOLY SHIT GOOD as much as influencers make it out to be. Also very important, 90% of olive oils in the supermarket are fake, made with seed oil or made with rotten spoiled olives and sold as quality olive oil. 'Quality' is a subjective term that any company can stamp on their product. You can see on many shitty generic fruit punch 'Excellent source of vitamin C' obviously it's not, a real fruit is a good source not some chemical overheaten juiced added with citric acid. Anyways the olive oil is a big scam you can google it if you don't trust me. Just type 'olive oil fake industry' and you should have plenty of results. So the solution: you need to get a good quality olive oil and do a background check. It's annoying but once you have done that you never have to do it again. Just as a reminder seed oil is really bad and destroys your body slowly, also gives you nasty gyno. At the end of the day you do whatever you want man. If more idiots buy fake olive oil I guess that's less competition for us who are careful with our health.

The vast majority don't pit them before grinding it down to make oil.

Sure, but still if you're getting a quality oil they are merely pressed without many stages of chemical extraction and purification/deodorizing processes so the vast majority of the oils would be from the fruit.

Dietary fat is bad and causes inflammation and insulin resistance in the body because it allows lipopolysaccharides to enter the bloodstream. lipopolysaccharides are pieces of dead bacteria, like cell walls. They cause a lot of inflammation which is the root cause of lots of health problems in the body.

Refined fats have basically zero protein, minerals and vitamins. So they are empty calories that deplete your stores of micronutrients.
A spoonful of fat can add 200 calories, while providing little satiety, which can lead to weight gain.
Refined fats can be nice for people eat who for flavor, but not so great for eating for health.

If you could eat 300 calories of butter, or 300 calories of cheese - most people will feel better eating the cheese as it has way more micros and satiety than butter.

CICO gays and calorie counters ignore the effect of empty calories and satiety.

Anon already mentioned this but it bears repeating, you should know that the majority of olive oil is not actually olive oil. They sell other oils (sneed oils) and label it olive oil. It's actually a huge problem. So once my bottle of """olive""" oil, which is most likely a mix of basedbean and canola bullshit, is finished, I won't be buying olive oil again any time soon. I'm still gonna finish the bottle because it's a really small one with not much left but I have butter in the fridge and that works for cooking just fine.

I’ve read extensively about this issue. Olive oil industry has a remarkable amount of fraud, but the biggest fraud isn’t replacing olive oil with other oils, it’s selling non-extra virgin olive oil and labeling it as extra-virgin. The different between EVOO and the other olive oil presses is mostly a flavor difference, the health benefits of the following presses are largely still there. There are more phenols in the first press, but the health benefits are negligible; unless you’re like
Mark Whallberg or the liver king and think dunking your balls in an ice bath every morning is worth the non-studied marginal health benefit.

TLDR; if you’re buying olive oil you are likely getting real olive oil, it’s just the subsequent shittier presses of it being fraudulently sold as extra-virgin.
