Opioids Before Leg Day

What if I take a little hydro or the like before leg day? Day days are painful as frick. 8 sets of belted squats and 4 sets of goodmornings. I typically do 1-3 RIR sets, even with a safety. I heard that back in the 80s and 90s, there was an actual popular opioid for bodybuilders to take before insane workouts like this. Would such a thing harm my gains?

I'm not. I know they did it. I just can't remember the name of it. No need to worry about nodding off if you've got a shitload of caffeine in you. One small opioid isn't going to be enough to really affect you're breathing, so I don't think you'll be missing any reps.

great way to get an addiction that might derail your life for several years

I'm not going to do that with fricking opioids. They just make you nod off, and even if I really wanted to get high with my friends, I have the mental power to use them as social drugs. The only drugs I've ever really abused are for sleep, since I've had sleep issues since I was a literal baby, but I can go months on end without taking any substances, even the ones prescribed for me, for sleep.

this is literally how addiction starts, and the stuff youre saying is exactly what other people think before they start dabbling in it and wind up getting addicted
take some ibuprofen or just endure the pain. it sucks but taking opiates for this is pants on head moronic and not worth the risk

          >take some ibuprofen
I just remembered hydros contain acetaminophen, an anti-inflammatory. Anti-inflammatories are horrible for gains, since metabolic stress (the pump) is very important for hypertrophy.

acetaminophen is tylenol, ibuprofen is an NSAID. but yeah ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory

Good to know. I thought they were both NSAIDs. Maybe I might just get myself a few hydros and start experimenting. I would only need a single pill once every five days, and I wouldn't want to gain any tolerance to it.

ok if you cant handle some leg pain and think an opiate addiction is worth it over that, have fun.
just know that this is how it always starts for addicts. your one pill every 5 days will become every 3 days, then every other day etc. its not a unique situation youre in, it happens to a LOT of people
                good luck

I can't fricking remember the name of it, but there actually was a a popular opiate for bodybuilders back in the day. It's not that I "can't handle the pain," it's that it feels like my legs are being torn apart for those would be 2 to 3 reps before absolute failure when doing squats.

This only happens to people who are fricked in the head, and I have a lot going on in my life.

Fricking alcohol gives you way more dopamine and anxiety relief than opioids, but it's extremely normalized in Western society. Bars are essentially just alcohol dens for a substance that is neurotoxic and permanently kills your braincells. Opium doesn't do that. It just helps you chill out.

Going to 0 RIR for 8 sets of squats is fricking insane. I'll try it in the future, but that shit really pisses me off.

When you starting boosting cars for drug money do you think you'll be local or are you going to carpool with other addicts to hit nice suburbs?

Bump. SOMEBODY here is going to know the answer. I AM apprehensive over doing this, since I don't want this shit to affect my brain in any way, but I would only be doing this around once every five days for my leg days, and literally only taking a single pill. I'm still not sure as to whether or not this would actually decrease my workout quality though, which is something I want an answer to.

Olympic athletes will take whatever drugs they can get away with. If it hasn't been banned already, they'll take it, it it has only been banned to a certain amount, they'll take the maximum they can get away with. They even take steroids during extended times when there's no testing.

      >So it was a troll the whole time, huh?
I've noticed I've been getting words mixed up and forgetting a few words at bit more than usual, so I think the benzos with alcohol fricked me up a bit. I've slept without any medications, not even the ones my doctor prescribed to me, very comfily for the past three nights. I don't want to frick up my brain.

Although I am that same anon, I'm still interested in the whole opioid before leg day thing, since that shit can fricking hurt, and even just eliminating 5% of the pain could make a big difference.
