The catch is that indomorons are cutting down forests in indonesia, destroying habitats for local orangutan populations just so us stupid westerners can eat more oils.
But if you don't eat it, the orangutans will have died for nothing.,

Plants have PHYTOSTEROL which is toxic and kills you.

Check this interview with Paul Mason and he goes into studies:

Bad take, palm oil comes from a fruit which is the part of the plant that it specifically wants you to eat

Doesn't matter. All plant oils have phytosterol which is toxic and kills you.

Humans are animals and should eat animal fat which has cholesterol.

Tryptophan, the main amino acid in muscle meat protein, is also toxic and kills you, what is your point? I get that animal food is important but so are plant foods, you can't just throw the baby out with the bathwater

          >Humans are animals and should eat animal fat which has cholesterol.

          Our body produces cholesterol.

Humans are closest, in physiology, to frugivore primates. We should be eating like bonobo's. Fruits, tubers, shoots, roots. They also supplement with mushrooms, and small animals like squirrels, though it's a small amount of their diet.

So yeah, fruit, potatoes, root vegetables, and small amounts of meats.

If all seedoils are bad why is olive and coconut shilled?

This is one of the reasons I don't like "seed oil" as a term, because the actual thing you should avoid is polyunsaturated fat (also found in industrial pork)

It's not just PUFA. It's all plant oil

        Coconut oil has phytosterol

Phytosterol is a meme, coconut oil is the healthiest oil you can consume and contains less PUFA than even animal fat does. It increases thyroid function as well

Phytosterol is why 'seed oils' are toxic. PUFA is a meme.

It's not just seed oils it's all plant oils. And the reason plant oils are harmful is: phytosterol.

              >. And the reason plant oils are harmful is: phytosterol.
through what mechanism? lipip peroxidation? there's no clinical evidence that says pufa are harmful because of it, if anything is the complete opposite

Olive oil is made from the fruit "meat" (dont know the english word) rather than the seed and coconut oil isnt extracted using chemical methods like rapesneed or sunflower sneed.

both low in PUFA; olive oil mainly monounsaturated & coconut oil saturated. coconut oil is better for other, adjacent therapeutic effects, as well as the superior nature of saturated fat.

much easier and less nuanced than the whole 'PUFA' discussion. the term is inaccurate, but simple to digest for normies. useful for normalization of healthier oils in mainstream nutrition.

Coconut oil is poisonous. It lowers cholesterol, which is actually a bad thing.

The reason it lowers cholesterol is because phytosterol blocks cholesterol. This causes heart disease among other things.

The reason "seed oil" is harmful is phytosterol. All plant oils have phytosterol. Therefore all plant oils are harmful.

Humans are apex predators. We should be eating animal fat.

seed oils are bad because they oxodize into poison 100x faster than regular fat. and they also cannot be used for important function like covering your nerves in a protective layer

            Anonymous

Not true. Fish oil is good for us. It's the phytosterols. That's the mechanism. And it means coconut oil is harmful too.

            >. And the reason plant oils are harmful is: phytosterol.
through what mechanism? lipip peroxidation? there's no clinical evidence that says pufa are harmful because of it, if anything is the complete opposite

The plant sterols trick the body into thinking it is cholesterol but can't be used properly so you end up with dead heart muscle and mitochondrial dysfunction. Humans need ANIMAL sterols (cholesterol).

If phytosterol is as harmful as you say it is then why is it only the unsaturated plant oils that are associated with higher rates of cancer and heart disease, while coconut oil is associated with lowering such rates? PUFA makes much more sense than phytosterol in explaining this

Because associations don't prove anything and coconut oil eaters are relatively rare. There's a genetic condition that causes people to absorb more phytosterol and they get way more heart disease than other people. It proves phytosterol causes heart disease.

Coconut oil has phytosterol therefore coconut oil causes heart disease. The only safe lipids are ANIMAL FATS.

While "seed oil" is simpler for normals to digest it ends up causing a lot of them eating tons of PUFA-ridden salmon because they think it's healthy and also fuels the whole "omega 3 to 6 ratio" meme, which does worry me a bit

      Anonymous

Because those don't go through an elaborate process to get turned into something edible. The seeds aren't nessecarily bad, iirc walnut oil is great when it's fresh. The problem is the they break down rapidly after production and become rich in oxidants, which supposedly cause inflammation across the body. Antioxidants are good for you cause they counteract that process. You can have a bit of it, the problem is more about the quantity present in highly processed seed oils.

I think unfortunately vitamin E is one of those nutrients where it is really hard to get it from a normal diet, liver tends to be a good source of it if it's not factory farmed, otherwise you might have to get mixed tocopherols to supplement
