"People can't tell you Lift in a shirt"

True or False?

Personally I think it is a mix of COPE and Body Dysmorphia. Most people can instantly tell if you lift even in normal clothing and you don't have to be extremely buff for that.

I don't wear loose clothes (tight, but not skin tight) and have good posture.
I'm not even jacked and people say I have nice pecs. LIfting will definitely point it out more, OP.

Came here to post this. All the men I meet basically just assume I lift, like they won't even ask if I lift, they just ask shit about the gym or how long I've been lifting. I've had random men in bars compliment me. Not one woman has ever even mentioned my physique.

I've been mistaken for an athlete more times than not, even in winter, unter heavy wool sweaters and leather jacket. Even in my profession people mistake me for some kind of athlete or exmil. I have been working out only for 2 years and have taken the neckpill. Make of that what you will.

Redpill me on this pill. I've half-assed some neck curls but dropped them because i thought it's moronic and there's no muscle there to grow

        Anonymous

Your neck muscles actually grow incredibly fast. Grecoroman wrestler's have thick necks because of the constant resistance applied to them. What I do is stand at the end of my bench, place a 20lbs plate on my forehead and do 3 sets of 12 neck curls with 1 minute rest inbetween, after every workout. It's piss easy, my neck now sits at almost 16 inches unflexed and almost 18 inches flexed after a few months of proper training.

            Anonymous

I didn't need to. I started with 20lbs for 10 reps, now I just do 12 reps. I found out that I didn't have to progressively overload on the weight to get bigger. As I said, I measured my neck so I'm not talking out of my ass, the neckpill is that piss easy to swallow

              Anonymous

neckpill is unironically moronic just do compounds

                Anonymous

If your neck doesn't grow through compounds then you should take the neckpill. It is *easily* responsible for more aesthetic gains than any other single muscle/group. It's not even close, like the other guy said. People can see it in clothes or out, makes the shirts you wear look better, frames your face and makes it look sharper + leaner.

It takes 5 minutes to do and zero fatigue

Dont have access to any pl8s cause shitty apartment gym, do you think if I lay a towel or some sort of padding and use a dumbell it'll work? You pilled me bro.

Yes, it can work even without any weights and high reps. In your situation I'd just buy a brick or something heavy, wrap it in a towel and go to town. You can do it with from the edge of your bed. Just be careful to brace your neck, I've never had anything bad happen to me tho

        >there's no muscle there to grow
Now you're the one being moronic. See those red things around this guys neck. That's muscles. You can grow any surface muscle in your body.
        >I've half-assed some neck curls
You need to really work at it for a while, but neck is one of the easiest places to grow if you haven't ever trained it. You'll see result after like 3 sessions. Just do some unweighted reps until fatigue in different directions. It might take 100+ reps. Be careful with weights.

            Anonymous

It helped my headaches, they went from a few times a month to few times a year. It think it was mostly the increased bloodflow and less fatigue in day to day activities.
I'm sure it would help if you have mobility issues, but for me, my neck now feels less "mobile", heavier. Range is the same as before. Stronger and faster on the movements, but it feels like it's fighting against itself when I turn my head all the way to the side for example. Unironically feels like the terminator headturn, I can feel the hydraulics in my neck working.

Nta but I do seated db ohp (haven't pressed a bar in forever) and I used to tweak my neck all the time when bringing the weights down to only ear level (that's what everyone else did). The problems stopped when I went down 5lbs per side and started bringing them all the way down to my shoulders/collarbone on the negative.
Never had a neck issue doing rdls and I don't do bb rows so no comment there

Go to your nearest mirror, flex the shit out of your lats, and congrats "only shoulders matter" posture has been achieved.

That guy is also in good shape, has good arm development (/fit/) Only real rough thing midsection, if I had to guess loose skin from loosing weight / general aging.

if he really feels that crappy about his body, he probably starts acting aspy when shirtless, thus disappointment.

There are good examples out there of people either born into too low a social class, or born with horrendous deformities that make working out futile. This is what you zoomers don't understand. High school and some college age girls think that's what they want, but grown women have a primal attraction to masculine men. They don't want femboys. They might think they do when they are young, but they wonder why the sex their pussy doesn't actually get wet and then one day the runt heir hands through some dudes chest hair and something wakes up in them.

I think it depends on your glamour muscles. If you have a good cut or taper
Ie big chest and arms flat stomache.

People can tell you lift in clothes if:
    >Wide shoulders.
    >Massive chest
    >Big Bi's
    >Big tri's

People can't tell you lift if
    >Big traps
    >Big quads.
    >Well defined back

flat stomach is massively underrated in terms of attractiveness and getting that sexual masculine look. not even abs. And it make the rest of your physique look bigger and stronger. a belly is massive turnoff if you're looking to be "hot". just imagine being a girl and going down on some dude and he's got a sweaty soft gut right in your face. not usually a big deal once you're in a relationship though

This is incredibly true. If you have a flat stomach and noticeable muscle mass besides that you're literally an adonis in the eyes of people without BDD. It's honestly a huge pain because being strongfat feels fricking amazing.

As you get bigger it gets bit uncomfortable to wear clothes that are tight. But you can generally tell someone lifts even in larger clothes because they have traps. Over the last year my pants size has gone down but my shirt size has gone up because the trap growth and the muscles to the side and upper back really change how shuts fit you.

I'm not exactly a huge guy but you can generally tell that I lift. And I have an absolutely terrible frame and bone structure.

And yet you look dyel. Keep lifting though, you're going places.
The best clothes to show off are chino pants and polo shirts.
He pants show the butt and quads, while the polo shirt are tighter on the arms than t-shirts and the button up complements the chest and traps very well.

          Anonymous

depends on your age and where you live. polos aren't that big here and comes across a little try hard. the ideal is to show off as much of your (good) physique as possible while looking comfortable and not trying

I adore the polo aesthetic for myself, but I hate anything tight. And anything with sleeves, especially polos, feel like they're compressing my arms.

Depends. If you're looking from a distance then no. However if you're up close or even just observe someone walking, you can usually see very well whether they're built like a gay or a big guy. Admittedly, sometimes it's still not clear whether it's fat or muscle, but then, when you look at expected novice/intermediate/expert etc. lifts for various weights sometimes it almost appears fat IS muscle.

Thats just how you are right now !
Now keep exercising and dieting etc, dont look in the mirror every single day (not seeing improvements lowers motivation, usually) but rather just once a week, and youll look good in Gaymart t-shirt as well as (or even better) shirtless

      Stay strong anons

Someone post a pic of Julian from TPB you can tell he lifts w/ his black t shirt on

maybe hes some built-fat/strongnormie hybrid ?

I’m 6’3 and for me it was the opposite. I looked pretty good with clothes on- wide shoulders, huge chest, relatively small waist. But I had a higher body fat percentage than it looked. Still remember in undergrad when I brought a girl back
    >it’s fat not muscle with a disappointed look on her face
    Still scored though.
But yeah I’d say this applies more to ottermode types. Builtfat looks better with clothes

yes it's the classic natty dilemma of looking swole in clothes or great shirtless. honestly i've given up on built fat and love the leanness i've attained. face gains, cardio gains, not as sweaty, happier and more confidence, more attention from women and never feel bad having to "expose" what's underneath. do miss the progress and diet tho

To look like you lift in clothes, just be broad shouldered and slim waisted.
Of course, this is impossible for powershitters.

need to hit your arms more

Why is this even a question? Obviously it's false. My back and chest are so thick that I just burst out of my t-shirts/sweatshirts even hoodies that are one size-up. And if your arms are hugging the sleeves that's another tell-tale sign that someone lifts. (excluding being a fatfrick or wearing extra small).

also i think some of the coping dyels mix up looking like you lift with having abs.

this guy isn't the worst offender but he looks pretty much on par shirtless and shirt on. that's a nice normie summer body but far from looking like a buff lifter shirtless. the shirt hides your abs but that's pretty much about it. the rest looks the same with or without

agree'd, traps, forearm, bicep veins, the way your shirt hangs off your chest or back. not being a fat soft b***h looking homosexual. regardless of looseness or fit of your clothes will show.

in sweden there's 'slim fit', slim fit XL is like L that emphasizes your sick gains

Depends,if you have prominent traps, neck, chest, side delts, forearms and biceps your average person will notice. Even more if you wear a shirt that you had since you were 13 they will notice your lats. But if you're a jacket wearing type of guy the only thing they'll notice is your neck, traps and probably chest.

People can tell instantly. I'm 6'2 with broad shoulders so that helps for sure.
When I started my last job which wasn't home office I was spammed with moronic fitness jokes and I never once mentioned or talked about anything fitness related at all, never mentioned I worked out or nothing.
    eg
    >in elevator with female boss and another female, they are talking about drinks they like, boss tells the other female "hehe anon probably only drinks whey"
    >the males in office took turns to change 20L water gallon, when it was my turn for the first time someone asked if I knew how to do it, another male coworker answered out loud "look at the size of his arms, he can change it with one hand!"
All that wearing a tshirt and jeans.
