Pls Help

Hi IST, I'm a 25 year old man that finally unfricked my financial situation enough to start going to the gym. I'm officially going to start from next Monday.
I used to go when I was 17-19 but due to many life-shattering circumstances was forced to stop. In the past 4-5 years I got very fat. I started making an effort to get slimmer about a year or so ago and now I'm at a rough 82.5 kgs at 180 cm.

My question is, I should keep cutting until I hit the 75 kg mark right?
And I plan on eating lots of protein to develop some muscle while I'm lifting weights however, so will I be able to see any progress in about the next three month mark if I keep losing two kgs every month? I know lifting is a time gain, I'm just wondering about the duration of it.

Cut until you don't feel fat anymore. You can gain muscle on a cut but not as much as on a bulk. You'll get about half the gains while cutting

I see. And what about strength gains? Should I progressively increase my load the same way I would when bulking?

Body recomp and cut. No matter what your goal is, dropping lbs and BF% is key. Use this time to understand routines, lifts, recovery and discipline. When the day comes for bulking and strength building you'll have a more experienced idea of what to do.

          >Body recomp
          Very interesting, thanks anon.

          >I'm at a rough 82.5 kgs at 180 cm
          Hit the gym bro.
I am going to the gym since December.
I am 181cm and before I started I was 106kg. Now I'm 94kg where I have plateaued for the last month.
My goal is to drop below the 90kg mark and keep dropping until 85kg and see how it goes while building muscle.

Nice! Are you building muscle well?

    >700kcal/day deficit
    >2g protein/kg bw
    >4 day U/L hypertrophy program with progressive overload
    >sleep 8h per night
    Thank me in 6 months.

How can you be so poor you can't afford to go to the gym? My gym membership is $40 a month. There's a rec center here with a crappy gym and it's $25 for 6 months. Not to mention you can jog and do all sorts of exercise for free

    I hate fatties

Fattening food with high concentration of bad hydrocarbons and sugar and low, almost non existent, nutritional value and protein is cheaper.

      >>have enough money to become (very) fat
It's not that I didn't have enough money not to eat, I just didn't care. I lost my dad five years back and then I lost the house we were in and became homeless for a bit. After that I applied for government housing and during this period of my life I didn't give a frick about anything. I ate, garbage, drank like crazy and smoked whatever I could get my hands on. I had a wake up call a few years ago and resolved to fix my life but there's a lot of shit I needed to pay off first. But yeah, I could only afford to do bodyweight exercises and go for runs until recently.

Ignore that homosexual. 82 kg at 180 cm is a healthy weight. Cutting is a meme, unless you are a bodybuilder. Bulk up but do some cardio, like once twice a week. Don't eat junk food but always remember to have a decent meal, especially after workout. Starvation isn't healthy even if it gives you abs.

      >82 kg at 180 cm is a healthy weight.
Really? I feel a bit chubby. My gut is still so large I can't see my penis well. If I get any bigger I feel like I'll go back to being fat. Plus, my BMI is categorised as being overweight currently.
      > Bulk up but do some cardio, like once twice a week.
My current plan was to do cardio everyday seriously when I wasn't lifting weights.

Falling on deaf ears. Most DYELs only parrot terms without any consideration of the individual stance. At least we‘ll see OP in 3 months on why his progress is so damn slow.

        >on why his progress is so damn slow.
I'm not expecting fast progress but as long as I'm making steady progress I'll be satisfied.

        >Exercise: zero hours/week
A casually muscular man would be healthy with those measurements. Once OP puts on some muscle it will be aesthetic.

Go for it. Cardio and lifting combined can work well for amateurs. Since you haven't worked out for a long time, your noobie gains are most likely reset and you will see some results relatively quickly. Speaking from a personal experience.

    Good job OP.
Wether or not your should cut or bulk depends less on weight and more on what you see in the mirror.

As a total beginner you can gain strength even on a cut, so start SS or SL5x5 and keep doing it until you plateau AND feel like you have some room for bulking.
