>Do you think they're showing off having a body light enough to pull up?
literally, yes. Guys who weigh sub 170 lb take pride in being able to do 20 pull ups or some weird reddit shit, despite their abs barely being visible at 10% bf and having 11 inch arms. I'm 200 lb at 12% bf and can do like 10 strict bodyweight pull ups in a row, despite being able to lift 2/3/4/5, including being able to barbell row 315
>I'm 200 lb at 12% bf and can do like 10 strict bodyweight pull ups in a row, despite being able to lift 2/3/4/5, including being able to barbell row 315
it literally just becomes cardio after rep 6. Why would I waste my time with a full body exercise when I could just isolate my lats and overload them more efficiently? It's like the same reason doing high rep OHP for shoulders is retarded. Your body gives out before your delts
>I can do 225lbs total for 8 reps. 170lbs BW >170 lb
and you look like you don't lift with a t shirt on lol. Exactly my point, twink gays love to take pride in shit like this. Meanwhile they bench 205 lb for reps unironically, lol
>I bench lmao2pl
I didn't say I benched 225 for a sloppy 1 rep max, bud. I bench 315 for sets of 6
>30lbs lighter >is pulling more total weight than you
you can stop coping and in stead come to terms with that your horizontal pull is weak af compared to everything else, everyone has inherent strength imbalances and pullups along with deadlifts happens to be my strong points
I'm 295 pounds and I can do 2 with good form. If you're struggling to do these at <200 pounds then you're a genuine backlet >post body
Why? I'm fat lol What do you expect to see?
Still pretty damn good. There's skellys on here who can't do them. Even if you can only do those 2 or 3 right now you're still stronger than a lot of people here
It engages back muscles which are hard to target. I have trained with calisthenics for years but I never had access to a push up bar and I now cannot do one because I'm too heavy.
I found a park which has an assisted pull up bar mechanism. I'm exercising on that to failure. Pull ups are an exercise I should be able to do 10 given i can do 50 push ups so I'm working on it.
With low bf% this is enough for pretty boy at the beach look.
But this isn't the 90's, we are in an arms race with SARMS goblins and roidtrannies, need to get yoked and strong to remotely compete without becoming one of them.
Adding in deadlifts and cheat curls wouldn't be bad with some military push presses. That trio would be golden one on top of basic calisthenics. Simple, effective, lets you move a lot of weight.
>squats >deadlifts >bench >OHP >barbell row >pullups
These, or any close variation of these are the bread and butter.
Throw in some arms and delt isolation on top and chances are your routine isn't bullshit
I used to do this shit, swapped it out for weighted chin-ups. Kinda miss doing a ton of volume on bodyweight pullups/chinups. The only lift that I have fun struggling on.
Yep there's a revolving series of "this lift sucks" or "this lift is great".
I don't know what the fuck the objective of the spammers are, often they can turn into threads with decent information. Maybe it's AI trying to learn.
Aside from the deadlift and ohp schizo threads, I think they're cries for help. People are a lot more likely to correct you and give insight saying something sucks and is useless than if you were to ask a simple question or openly seek advice on it
OP here
No I just posted this because I thought of it in my head and it sounded funny. The joke is supposed to be that an exercise that doesn’t even use weights is somehow “ego lifting”
I am cisgender btw if it matters
Checked, I bet that's why there's been so many salty people on here recently, more than usual. It's because free month stuff from nyr fags are almost up and they probably went for like 2 weeks total and are about to give up.
This is my most hated exercise because its so taxing to my body. But i know i must do it to have a great body and manly shoulder. Look at my macho shoulder now. If you can't do pullup you're weak end of story.
Lmfao did you get your shit stomped in the party pull up thread?
If I ever see you struggling for your life on the edge of a tall building, I'll tell you to do a pull-up.
Stfu cope ego lifter
>pulluptards have to invent wild scenarios to justify their memelift

Wow your pullup is very weak
it literally just becomes cardio after rep 6. Why would I waste my time with a full body exercise when I could just isolate my lats and overload them more efficiently? It's like the same reason doing high rep OHP for shoulders is retarded. Your body gives out before your delts
Your pullups are shit, I can do 225lbs total for 8 reps. 170lbs BW, 45lbs added. I bench lmao2pl
>170+45=225
215lbs kek
I have done 235lbs for 6 reps with close neutral grip tho
>I can do 225lbs total for 8 reps. 170lbs BW

*vertical pull
230lbs here, I do pull-ups every workout. I can do 12 now
its PFT season.
i can max about 8 or 9 on a good day going all the way to a dead hang every time. am i going to make it bros?
I can do +20kg for 8 reps, same full ROM and pausing at clavicle/chest.
Sets of perfect form pullups with only BW still fuck me up.
I'm 295 pounds and I can do 2 with good form. If you're struggling to do these at <200 pounds then you're a genuine backlet
>post body
Why? I'm fat lol What do you expect to see?
Dang. I am 230 and can do 2 or 3 with.... mediocre form.
Also fat
Still pretty damn good. There's skellys on here who can't do them. Even if you can only do those 2 or 3 right now you're still stronger than a lot of people here
No it isn't, I'm 230lbs and can do 16. If you're a man and can't do 10 pull ups, you're too weak for your weight
It's only an ego lift if you are doing some crossfit floppy fish shit.
Even then they do it for a sport so.... yeah.
>Pull ups
>Literally lifting up yourself, symbolizing reaching ascension with your own power
Incredible...
What's a socialists most hated exercise?
>pull ups
What about dips?
For some reason my triceps always hurt more than my biceps when doing pullups
Change your grip.
It engages back muscles which are hard to target. I have trained with calisthenics for years but I never had access to a push up bar and I now cannot do one because I'm too heavy.

You can get bands for assistance too.
Thanks anon I'll look into that
>pullups
>pushups
>pistols
>planks
Literally all the exercises you need to build strength and mass. Prove me wrong.
Post body
>Implying I can build my serratus with this trash routine
love me some planks but fuck you if you're not regularly picking up a heavy thing
Add dips and rows aswell and you're good
With low bf% this is enough for pretty boy at the beach look.

Instead of squats you would prefer as a calisthenics type of guy to do some mobility work for legs such as box jumps and lunge walks.
Yeah you’d “prefer it” because it’s easier for you. The easy way is not the good way.
Yeah okay, chicken leg
replace pushups with handstand pushups
High on copium today, aren't we?
>gain 15lbs (and counting) on a lazybulk
>can barely get 50 total chin reps on pull day (used to shoot for 80+)
feels batman
I used to do this shit, swapped it out for weighted chin-ups. Kinda miss doing a ton of volume on bodyweight pullups/chinups. The only lift that I have fun struggling on.
> Pointless.
Helps you climb up an edge in a survival situation, fatty.
You're being chased with sub machine guns by delta commandos. ngmi
This thread was probably made by a chud mimicking posts they see here

Your free month at the gym almost up fatty?

The real red pill on these is doing one arm pull ups with the seated assist…depending on your body weight.
I’m 165lbs and do 40lbs assist one hand pull up. Get shredded lats and rear delta
fatty detected
>I'm a powershitter with no functional strength: the post
How do I increase my pull up number bros? I can do 8 if I try really hard on a single set, but usually I do 5x5.ws4d8p
Breathe better!
10 strict at 240 lbs
Pretty good right?
I love pullups and dips so much bros
Are you guys making one thread for each exercise? How much longer til we have the complete set?
This is my most hated exercise because its so taxing to my body. But i know i must do it to have a great body and manly shoulder. Look at my macho shoulder now. If you can't do pullup you're weak end of story.
It hardly uses your shoulders and you look like shit bro
Man you look like a weak bitch
Great if the pull ups are weighted
Using only BW is cringy and gay
OP has small lats
