You have to learn how to get a good sear on the sides. It looks like it was cooked in a non stick pan. Use a cast iron or stainless, heat the pan to medium high for 5 minutes, drop in your oil/butter and let warm in pan for 30-45 seconds, THEN place the meat down and make sure it is pressed evenly to make a good consistent sear. The bread is quarter pieces from a small loaf I made, pan fried onions with ground beef and cheddar on top of ketchup, mustard, mayo, and relish. Pretty degenerate way to satisfy my desire for a burger without using my grill or buying buns.
